>Peter_Armstrong: ALP H7 LAP +10 10
>Rob_Robinsky: EGHIIKQ I6 QI +15 15
#note It's an interesting feeling, looking at your phone during lunch after going 1-3 on the first morning of a tournament only to see that the pairings for the next two rounds have you playing two 2000+ rated players. It's an interesting feeling, indeed.
As far as this rack is concerned, Quackle basically considers this equivalent with F6 HIKE. I'm not seeing it - plays down column E that block my Q spots seem too likely to justify keeping the Q, even for a 14 point sacrifice.
>Peter_Armstrong: AEUX J7 EAUX +30 40
>Rob_Robinsky: EGHIKLS K9 HIKE +36 51
#note Okay Quackle, come on now. I can see how you might have a (very) slight preference for H10 ALKIES, but why is 11H GHI winning the sim? HIKE and GHI have about the same bingo percentage for me next turn, and it makes sense that Peter is about 7% less likely to bingo after GHI than after HIKE, but still. Do bingos hooking HIKE score that much more, really? I just don't get it. Maybe someone else can explain it better for me.
>Peter_Armstrong: INW K5 WIN +16 56
>Rob_Robinsky: ABGLNST 12H BAG.L +22 73
>Peter_Armstrong: EIIORST M7 RIOTISE +77 133
>Rob_Robinsky: AENOSTV 13C NOVATES +81 154
>Peter_Armstrong: HMOT 14F MOTH +38 171
>Rob_Robinsky: AIORUWZ 12B WUZ +54 208
>Peter_Armstrong: AALM 15E LAMA +46 217
>Rob_Robinsky: AEFILOR 11C FAIR +32 240
#note Lots of close options here. Looks like there's enough synergy to the EIL leave to slightly push 11C FARO ahead in the sim, with L1 FOLIE also simming well. I chose this because of the unseen R's and my desire to avoid drawing a second I, but it seems that it's just a hair weaker.
>Peter_Armstrong: DIV 8L D.VI +30 247
>Rob_Robinsky: CEELNOS F4 ENCLOSE. +68 308
#note Almost but not quite fitting down column L.
>Peter_Armstrong: OPTUY 4H POUTY +33 280
>Rob_Robinsky: ?EENNRT O8 .NTERNEt +74 382
#note And that's how a dynamic board dies in the space of two turns.
>Peter_Armstrong: CFGIOR 5A FORCI.G +26 306
#note I like this play by Peter - it scores fairly well, volatilizes column A while creating scoring potential for non-bingo plays there, and makes it difficult to block all of the lines he's just created at once.
>Rob_Robinsky: ADGIJNR 8A ADJIG. +48 430
#note Unfortunately for Peter, I'm able to do so while scoring a ton.
>Peter_Armstrong: BDO 3L BOD +19 325
>Rob_Robinsky: EENORTY 2M YEN +23 453
#note Based on his last play, Peter almost certainly has the A and probably the blank as well. During the game, I discounted the possibility that the blank or A was left in the bag, so I had five possible racks to assess: ADERSU? (two chances), AEERSU?, ADEESU?, ADEERU?, and ADEERS?. I (correctly) saw playable bingos for 3 of these 5 racks resulting in a 2/3 chance that Peter drew the bingo, which were just high enough odds to convince me to block the line rather than score 46 for ONEYRE/ONEYER. Simply playing YO accomplishes this, but I thought I might make it a bit more difficult for Peter to score in column O.
>Peter_Armstrong: ADEERSU O1 E.SUED +31 356
#note Surprise! He actually left the blank in the bag! This is Peter's best play.
>Rob_Robinsky: ?EORT B2 wRO.TE. +18 471
#note And this is mine. I needed a game like this to start the afternoon, not just to get a win but also to get rid of the frustrations and self-doubts that lingered after the losses of the morning session.
