#player2 Chris_Cree Chris Cree
>Jim_Burlant: AADEIIU 8H ADIEU +14 14
#note Close call between this and exchanging AIIU but I felt that 5 tiles played off and a workable - if admittedly vowel heavy -- AI leave justified it. Nothing wrong with exchaing AIIU if you prefer.
>Chris_Cree: GLR J7 G.RL +7 7
>Jim_Burlant: ABEIMUX M4 BEAUX +29 43
#note Considered a handful of plays - XU 7K looked reasonable but I'd prefer a more positive second consonant than a B if I'm going to fish. MUX M6 was a consideraton but again, the leave was nothing to write home about. Given all that, take the points. This is best.
>Chris_Cree: AEINRRT 7B TERRAIN +61 68
>Jim_Burlant: AEIMORW N1 WOMERA +36 79
#note Considered WO 8A and this. I was correct to turn down WO both for the lack of points and what it did to the board. While this is a much better choice than WO, this is still a big mistake: EARWORM/WORMIER E5 score 48.
>Chris_Cree: AIJO L1 JIAO +48 116
>Jim_Burlant: BCIILST O6 LIB +18 97
#note Best.
>Chris_Cree: HO O1 OH +35 151
>Jim_Burlant: CEIQSST 8A QIS +40 137
#note Debated between this and QI to leave the C and D columnns alone, but I didn't think they'd be alive after Chris's next turn anyway, so I might as well unload the duplicated S and score 5 more. This is best.
>Chris_Cree: DGNO F3 DONG. +11 162
>Jim_Burlant: CEFMSTU 3B FUME. +22 159
#note Reasonable play, but not best. B4 MUFTI and 9F FUMER may be a touch better.
>Chris_Cree: EKN 2A KEN +26 188
>Jim_Burlant: ?CIOSTU E7 .UCTIOnS +68 227
#note FAIL. While WOMERA was a comparatively minor slip, this was the play that cost me the game. I looked for 7s on row 11 and whiffed. I never even looked at row 5 (how the hell do I not even look there? and whiffed an any number of 2x2's. Even the lame CITROUS 11D probably is just enough.
>Chris_Cree: EFT 4A EFT +19 207
>Jim_Burlant: ADNOPVY D11 PYA +31 258
#note I wondered about whether I should open up row 15 or block the bingoes. Q says PANSY or DONSY (which I both rejected) were the plays and that this is the best of the rest.
>Chris_Cree: DEENSST 11G DENSEST +72 279
#note Best bingo for Chris. Of note: TEPIDNESS 11B 68!
>Jim_Burlant: ADLNORV H10 V.NDOR +33 291
#note Best.
>Chris_Cree: OYZ 14H .OZY +36 315
>Jim_Burlant: AACEGIL 5E A.GLICE +40 331
#note Lots of style points for this non-bingo 2x2...but AECIAL 15J scores 9 more scoreboard points. The consolation: none of it would have mattered. His next rack takes my winning chances to 0.
>Chris_Cree: ?EINRTT A8 .uITRENT +101 416
>Jim_Burlant: AHILPVW 12L HAW +30 361
>Chris_Cree: AEO 13M OE +15 431
>Jim_Burlant: ILPV K4 L.V +12 373
>Chris_Cree: A J14 .A +11 442
#note Safe to say, if I find the right bingo instead of the RUCTIONs mistake, this game takes a very different turn. What's he doing with his DENSEST rack if the southern hemisphere is totally blocked up?
>Chris_Cree: (IP) +8 450
