#player1 Darrell_Day Darrell Day
#player2 Jim_Burlant Jim Burlant
>Darrell_Day: EW 8G WE +10 10
>Jim_Burlant: IOOPSSS 7G OPS +17 17
#note Yuck. These options all suck. To me it came down to OOPS 7F and OPS 7G. I rejected OOPS due to all the easy front hooks (COOPS, HOOPS, etc.) it gave back. Not sure why I didn't see F6 plays - against Darrell, keeping the board alive is mission number 1, and with this much duplication, I'd be much better off with POOS F6 to unload the extra O and keep everything from closing down.
>Darrell_Day: BE F7 BE +18 28
>Jim_Burlant: IIORSSY H5 YI.. +9 26
#note Too protective of my duplicated S's? With only 2 in my rack I'm loath to drop yet another one of them for only 1 point. At least if I could hook one of my dupes somewhere, ok. Best is apparently 6E SOY. This is so-so.
>Darrell_Day: ?AEILTU 9A UrALITE +70 98
#note Best bingo for Darrell. His other options are LIQUATE ald ALUNITE at 9A, as well as EQUALITY 5A. I certainly wish he had played LIQUATE:
>Jim_Burlant: IORSSTV A5 VIRT.S +27 53
#note Right idea, (slightly) wrong execution. Less is a smidgen more here, as VIRUS keeps the ST combination together.
>Darrell_Day: QT C8 Q.T +12 110
>Jim_Burlant: HJORRSZ -HJORR +0 53
#note By this point I already had the sinking feeling this wasn't going to be my game; not only did his bingo play an I but not where I needed it, his Q dump took away my impending 28-point ARROZ. Truthfully I never saw TOSH or SH on row 10 and couldn't see playing through this nonsense. I felt it best to keep the Z and hope for something like SIZY on the next turn; talk about modest expectations!
>Darrell_Day: AD 10F AD +21 131
>Jim_Burlant: EORSUUZ 5H .OUR +14 67
#note When will the "new" power 4 letter words become reflexive? YUZU!
>Darrell_Day: NOO 4J NOO +10 141
>Jim_Burlant: EJNRSUZ M2 JUN +24 91
#note Better at 3L for 29.
>Darrell_Day: EIT D7 TI.E +19 160
>Jim_Burlant: AEEERSZ B9 .AZEES +38 129
#note I thought that if I played ZEE he'd manage to block my S hook, so my misguided thought process was to turn tiles and hope for a good draw. Best is ZEE H10.
>Darrell_Day: DDEEMO H10 DEMOED +44 204
>Jim_Burlant: AABDERR A12 BRAD +41 170
#note The bingoes don't play but I can at least score well. I'm still alive, but not for long:
>Darrell_Day: CEEIMNN 14D EMIN.NCE +70 274
>Jim_Burlant: AAAEPRX D12 AP.X +42 212
#note I've actually made two consecutive good plays (amazing, given how brain-dead I've been to this point). Still at 4-1/2% winning chances...bu about to go down to 0:
>Darrell_Day: FFILLSU L8 FULFILS +97 371
#note Nice find!
>Jim_Burlant: AACEORY 11K O.AY +20 232
>Darrell_Day: ORW 8L .ROW +30 401
>Jim_Burlant: ?ACEHRV 5A .ARVE +22 254
#note While I've played dreadfully to this point, the tile bag is not helping, either. I haven't even finished my second game and this is already my third no-go 7 of the tournament. This is actually best, not that it really matters.
>Darrell_Day: O 2M .O +18 419
>Jim_Burlant: ?CGHNTT O1 iTCH +46 300
#note I first considered HAT B4 to set up CGNT?, but with GG unseen, I figured he'd be sure to block. Cancelling that, I figured I'd at least make sure to break 300. This, eTCH, or TeNCH in the same location is correct.
>Darrell_Day: AEGILNR 3E REALIGN +67 486
>Jim_Burlant: AGHIKNT B1 HAIK. +24 324
#note More new word misses: NIKAH 2B scores 55. Glad this one is over.
>Darrell_Day: GI 1A G.I +21 507
>Darrell_Day: (GNT) +8 515
