>Jackson_Smylie: EMRV 7G M.VER +24 64
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EINOTT 4H .ETTIsON +80 112
#note Looked for a while through the R in MOVER, couldn't see cO(R)NETTI. I knew that a good play through the R such as CORNETTI, which doesn't take an S, would be slightly better than JETTISON, even if scoring fewer. I had seen NONTITLE from the N, but just couldn't see CORNETTI.
>Jackson_Smylie: AKNU 3L KUNA +28 92
>Joshua_Sokol: ?DEHILR O1 cH..DLER +99 211
#note I finally won a challenge
>Jackson_Smylie: OW - +0 92
>Joshua_Sokol: BIOPRSV 6J BOP +25 236
#note I wanted to play 9H SPIV being so far ahead, but it was a remote possibility that Jackson could hit the N in JETON making AMI or AMA, so I decided to keep my S and make a board-molding play with it later if necessary. This was nice because it blocked the two easiest 8 lanes and scored well.
>Jackson_Smylie: OW J2 WO. +14 106
#note Sacrificing equity so that I don't give Jackson anything back from my play. He might not have an S but I can't risk it. FIBS is better equity at 1F.
>Joshua_Sokol: BFILRSV 1F VIRLS +31 267
#note Took this instead of FIBS or FLIRS because I'm ahead 130. I need to prevent multiple bingos from occurring. He might not even have an S but I can't take the risk.
>Jackson_Smylie: MN 5G M.N +14 120
>Joshua_Sokol: ABFGNSU 9E FUBS +25 292
#note I didn't see much I could do here besides play eastward from JETONS with SNUG or SNUG. I didn't see SNAFU. Trouble with those plays is that Jackson can make setups underneath that I will have a hard time managing or attempting to manage. And I'm really worrying about crazy worst case scenarios here, most likely a bingo from A8 ending in A(N). If I play from H9, I let him fish for that and blow the board open if he hits. Nothing seemed appealing about this either, just that it scored and forced Jackson to blow his rack up if he wanted to open the left side. Still wasn't happy with this. I didn't consider 9L FUBS instead, which seems pretty cool to keep things moving horizontally if Jackson wants to play a bingo. Seems good to manage the board this way.
>Jackson_Smylie: AA N2 A..A +21 141
>Joshua_Sokol: AGHNRYY 8J YANG +20 312
#note He seems as close to a bingo as I am comfortable with, so I decide to make a very defensive play and sacrifice a lot of points over 10D YAH or 10C NYAH just to minimize his chances. I also keep the second Y for (FUBS)Y. This is crippling defense, but it leaves me in a rougher position after the albeit less likely bad case scenarios that may arise. I would really hate for him to play down from the N or G of YANG after this, and even playing from 8A sucks for me, but I felt like I was going to block a bingo, so I did this. Not once did it occur to me in all of this that CHANDLER took a Y. I might have gotten another turn if I had played 9K ANGRY. That's a good play.
>Jackson_Smylie: EEGNR 8A GENRE +26 167
>Joshua_Sokol: ACHIRSY 10B CRASH +43 355
#note This crushes the bottom left and thereby doesn't allow 3 bingos to come down too easily, but I am not interfering with the spots where he *can* hit a bingo. I will have to respond by playing horizontally if he hits me on rows A-D to block the other columns, and he can still get something from M8 or L8. In that sense I might be better off just playing 10E SHY for the same score, leaving me tiles that can better respond to bad case scenarios. This does the second-best job at preventing 3 bingos, but the best play here is clearly 9M ICY, once again forming the elusive Y-hook on CHANDLER. There are many I's to come and if I draw 2-5 of them after CRASH I will almost necessarily need to exchange, so playing the extra tiles now might backfire. ICY gets rid of my only I and leaves possibilities like CRASH for next turn! It totally gets rid of the biggest threat, which is Jackson playing down from the G or the N in YANG.
>Jackson_Smylie: DEEELPT D1 DEPLETE. +76 243
#note not good! I wasn't 100% on this but I was not nearly confident enough to make a challenge here. Let him get one bingo, even if it's phony. Just don't let him get 2 more.
>Joshua_Sokol: DILOOWY 3B DO.ILY +32 387
#note and I don't even draw another I. Ridiculous. I can play these same tiles at 9K for 4 more, destroying that quadrant. Looks best to me, but this was perfect enough.
>Jackson_Smylie: EFIX C10 .EFIX +30 273
>Joshua_Sokol: AIOOOTW 15A WOT +34 421
#note REFIXT*. Wasn't sure myself, but this ensures that the hook cannot be used by Jackson.
>Jackson_Smylie: AACI 12C .ACIA +20 293
>Joshua_Sokol: AIIOORU M8 .IAOUR +16 437
#note 6B OU(T)? OK Quackle. Didn't realize this emptied
>Jackson_Smylie: DEGIITU 1A GUI. +18 311
#note he should hook FACIA first but we both gave up on this game sort of
>Joshua_Sokol: EIOSZ 13H SEIZO. +16 453
#note -4 to H12 SIZE. I was reasonable unsure of FACIAS.
