>David_Pearl: BEIV 11D VIBE. +20 88
>Joshua_Sokol: AEIINNR D11 .IN +12 72
#note After writing down AEIINNRT, I also circled the alphagram because it seemed like I recognized it. Still couldn't find the solution. Awful awful awful awful
>David_Pearl: CIIMORS K4 ISOM.RIC +98 186
#note I remembered this because of CRAMOISIE - A

At this point I knew I must have missed something last turn. There is no way this was fair
>Joshua_Sokol: AEIKNOR J8 .EK +34 106

>David_Pearl: AAAA -AAAA +0 265
>Joshua_Sokol: GHOTUUY 3C YOU.G +22 230
#note B13 YOU crossed my mind, but after his exchange this seemed safer.
>David_Pearl: ANP 4B NAP +23 288
#note jeez
>Joshua_Sokol: HOORTUX 2A HURT +25 255
#note L3 HOTRO(D) is an awesome 40 points. This is still the right play because of the setup potential and the partial blocking of the hook David unnecessarily opened up. I doubt he has both the S and the blank, but if he does I'm screwed anyway.
>David_Pearl: CHR 4J ..RCH +24 312
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEGOOX 1A OX +51 306
#note He said something that really bothered me at the time, along the lines of "I saw that coming, but it wasn't worth blocking". I don't need to hear that during a tense game, but I'm sure David didn't mean to come off the way he did.
>David_Pearl: NU 3N UN +7 319
>Joshua_Sokol: AADEFGO 2L FADO +39 345
#note David didn't seem to know what to do in this position, but I was pretty sure he had the blank at this point. I was fortunate he gave me 16 extra points this turn, and didn't accompany my play with another comment about how he could have prevented this one!
>David_Pearl: ?DEENOT 14D ErODENT +68 387
#note Of course, had I known I had just missed TRIENNIA, I would have totally taken David's word that he was outplaying the hell out of me this game. ISOMERIC should have never happened. Luckily he didn't see the 9 here, that would have been much worse for me than any play at 14D.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEGIOSY 13F YEA +18 363
#note totally confused here. Do I keep my S for S(NAP) and hope to hit something big somewhere else if he blocks? Do I just score as much as I can with 15E EYAS and hope to draw better stuff in the endgame? I didn't like 13G AYE because if he has the Z he can just drop it for 45. But maybe I have to do that in the off-chance he doesn't have the Z, or in the off-chance I can fish for something and bingo out to win just barely.
>David_Pearl: EFM B13 FEM +22 409
>Joshua_Sokol: AAGIOSW A14 WO +32 395
#note just hoping I can draw a miracle from the bag and go out before David.
>David_Pearl: AAEPTVZ B4 .AV +14 423
#note UW was not that "miracle draw" I was hoping for. David has some really cool wins here
>Joshua_Sokol: AAGISUW E5 AWA +23 418
#note hoping he missed GUIS(E) and does something really bad here, playing GUIS(E) first would just be resigning.
>David_Pearl: AEPTZ 7C TZ.. +14 437
#note D6 TEPA is 27 points better than this, and 7K (M)AZE, which David saw but eschewed, 14 points better. He had a lot of time left but made a fatal error by not confirming the score, which was 4 points closer than he had thought it was.
>Joshua_Sokol: GISU 9B GUIS. +7 425
>Joshua_Sokol: (AEP) +10 435
#note I didn't ask for a recount after making what I thought was an accurate score correction, but I had misscored YEA as 20 instead of 18, making me the culprit of this stolen tie. Last time, I had actually beaten Steve Grob when we agreed to a tie that I pulled out of nowhere. This time, it was the opposite. In both cases I was a huge underdog to win the game, so it was best for me to not risk a recount. Fortunately David didn't ask for one either, citing that his spread was no good and a tie was good for him.
