#note sweet play
>JD: ACHITUV F8 .UV +14 90
#note this play was really hard. I spent about 5 minutes on it. until UPKEEP went down, VOUCH or AVOUCH were the obvious choices. fortunately, I came across the best option, which was to make a fishy play with a non-traditional leave. I can also play UVA at J9 for 5 more points, but it gives back a lot more for Dave to work with.
>Dave_Wiegand: AAILOST 13D SOLATIA +74 122
>JD: AACEHIT 5F THE.IACA +76 166
#note I lucked into a bingo draw on both row 12 (HEPATICA) and here.
>Dave_Wiegand: IORR L1 RORI. +16 138
#note he took awhile to make this play.
>JD: ABDEHMR 14J HAMED +51 217
>JD: BDEENRT (challenge) +5 222
#note sadly, I didn't know the bingo on this play. but I did draw a challenge.
>Dave_Wiegand: ABINRTZ K4 B.RTIZAN +92 230
>JD: BDEENRT M4 B.NTERED +70 292
#note he blocks the spot for my bingo, but gives me another in the process. lucky me.
>Dave_Wiegand: NOO 13L ONO +17 247
>JD: AADIOTV 15G AVOID +36 328
#note presumably, he has an S in hand. this is still the best I can do.
>Dave_Wiegand: AGW 15M WAG +31 278
>JD: ?AEFLRT O7 FALTERs +83 411
>Dave_Wiegand: OS 12K SO +34 312
>JD: DEENUWY C3 WEEDY +41 452
#note I took another 5-6 minutes on this play. I should really be blocking the triple-triple, but even then I'm not out of the woods yet; he has a fair chance of an -ING bingo on column C given the unseen pool. I liked my play a lot because I save the U for a possible Q draw and score a lot. By flipping over 5 tiles, I also have a great chance of drawing the J or X to score with. Even if he does triple-triple, he'll be emptying the bag and allow me to go out first. the downside is that he can do exactly what he ended up doing, which is fishing to open a second triple-triple! That being the case, David spotted what I think is the top option during post-morten: UNREDY# at 1J, which I didn't know. I think the difference in win percentage is probably something like 1 in 200-300 games, but I would still play UNREDY now.
>Dave_Wiegand: IMN 4A MI.N +18 330
>JD: GIJNSUX 10J J. +25 477
#note I saw FLEERING as a possibility, and thought that I could outrun him whether I drew the Q or S; however, if I pull the Q, he has ISO/SHAMED and we'd end up in a 525-525 tie!! So this play sacrifices 1/144 of a win unnecessarily. He also threatens FLINGERS and FEIGNERS, so I should really be making a play to block all the bingos at the top-right; JUGS/BIBS would do the job just fine.
>Dave_Wiegand: Q G7 Q. +21 351
>JD: FGINSUX A4 .UXING +48 525
#note interestingly, I'm supposed to eschew MUXING and play GUNS at N1 to leave multiple spots for FIX. After MUXING, I only have one out, so he can play LION at E11 and save GEES at N2 for a boatload of points.
>Dave_Wiegand: EEGILNS 11B GL.ES +19 370
#note he missed the clever LION setup.
>JD: FS 10M .F. +14 539
>Dave_Wiegand: EIN N2 NIE +14 384
>Dave_Wiegand: (S) +2 386
