#note much prefer this over zealot, which gives a lot of easy stuff back

#note my best option might ba LALLAN G2 (which I didn't know), or A(R)TAL keeping LLN, or ALL/AD off of PLAID, which swings an S that is not common. all of these options suck, so I was totally fine with phonying. it's really hard to challenge at this point

#note fishing the E hits with 26/44 tiles, which might be decent optimally. not sure... I think I could come back without leaving so much to chance, so I think something like TALCIE(R) could be okay. maybe A(L)E or A(L)EC

I got super paranoid about the X spot he created. I remember thinking the bag was pretty consonant heavy, but it's actually only very slightly consonant heavy. ET looks really ridiculous, but the play has a few slight advantages - ACEIL plays well through the T and R open because it doesn't duplicate (blocking the L isn't so bad cause I am keeping an L), I'm blocking an easy X spot/scoring spot. ACEIL may also end bingoes with an E fairly often which is nice for the E column.

All of these little nice things about ET make it slightly justifiable, but I still should have seen SUEDE options. this situation was really frustrating because I knew I was making a terrible play but was taking a long time and hated everything I saw. I should have at least calculated the E fishes, cause that is something I could possibly get behind.

Quackle doesn't actually mind this play at all, it valuates A(L)EC, (OD)E, (R)E, (L)EI and ET all about the same, giving slight preference to the middle of the line play of ALEC. most of those plays make SUEDE, and I don't think I saw that option.

this sim result makes me a bit happier about this play but I still regret not seeing SUEDE and stuff.

#note hmm Q(U)AI is interesting to set up possible XI/XU plays, but there are 3 Ss out and if he has one it's kinda game over. QUA is interesting to set up XI, but I think that 7 point sacrifice is kinda crazy cause I can get more than an average of 31 from my X next turn

#note this play is terrible. it only hits bingoes with 4/24 tiles in the pool (agonies/coinages, goatiest, imagoes). GOX or OX with gypo are really interesting. OXE(R) is really aggressive, and I think I could try to get within outscoring range here so I don't want to give too many easy plays.

OX vs. GOX is interesting, because OX gives me more bingoes cause GYPOS is more open - even if he has an S he doesn't necessarily have a play there. problem is that there are 3 Os in the pool and a lot of heavy consonants, so I get hit with BOOK, FROM, HOOT type stuff a lot which makes outrunning impossible and even bingoes may not outrun then. GOX is interesting, bingoes in that spot are hard, but I have the C, R and T to use, which makes AEIS a bit better.

My rational with (e)x was that I can clean up my rack next turn, and I really wanna keep gyps/gypo open for myself. I think I should go with GOX here to give myself better immediate options. ex wins a sim but I don't like it as a play
>Eli_Shupak: KO 2J KO. +17 342
#note this is the type of play I was hoping for, hopefully I can outscore now
>Jackson: AEGIIOS 3D AGIO +9 310
#note definitely need to find (N)AOI here - or even OI/GYPO is a lot better. this is possibly my worst play of the game. I was hoping he just didn't have an A so couldn't hit the overlap, and maybe I could his a big S play cause KOR seems like he might not have an S (still might for sure). trying to hit a bingo with GYPS. OI and NAOI are better
>Eli_Shupak: ABM 2D BAM +32 374

#note consonant heavy bag now, so keeping EIS bingoes the most
>Eli_Shupak: HR G5 R.H +19 393
>Jackson: EEIIOSU 14M OI +14 324
#note I literally exchanged EIOU and drew EIOU!!!!!!!! I even checked the tiles I was returning to the bag to make sure I didn't just forget where I put the tiles I drew! I was hoping for (T)UMEFIES, that was the only bingo I saw... and it's actually the only possible bingo I can draw! fishing like (L)EI are waaaaaay better cause they actually hit stuff

#note this game was really interesting cause almost half of my plays were very nonstandard. sometimes I got it right but a lot of those cost me a big chance to win
