>Joshua_Sokol: ADEIKOR 10H OAK +25 61
#note with ADER and DEIR being almost indistinguishable at this stage, or so I thought, I took OAK over OIK because if Jason underlaps, the two he creates with the A will create a much better bingo lane for me than if he underlaps the I. ID, IN, IT and IF all require an S or another consonant to be hooked, but only AE creates a problem with the A. OAK is also easier to underlap, which is actually good for me because I want a bingo lane to be created for me. 10D OKA was 3 more points, however, and I was only a few neuronic interactions away from playing that, when I inferred that he had an S. If he underlaps OKA and puts an S on YAKS, he is both blocking the board and scoring very well, and I don't want that. The three plays I considered most are extremely close in a simulation. I also considered DROKE and DIKER at 8K for points, but they don't help me with the bottom left of the board and often lead to Jason's signature board lockdowns with very limited bingo opportunities. And the leaves suck.

#note from this moment on I was on extreme tilt, and I was already very distracted in this game by the 9 Bernard gave the club to work on, AABDGIILR. I thought it was on the tip of my tongue but I just couldn't solve it. I needed to focus on this game but I couldn't.

The reason for this tilt was that if I had played OIK, not only would I have drawn into NARDINE (I know, I wouldn't have drawn the same tiles, still superstitious) -- Not only that, but he also would have been unable to underlap for 40 points. My invitation for him to play under OAK totally and utterly backfired, and I should have known it would from inferring he had an S.

#note The board is still in big trouble because of my placement of YONI, so I need to blow my rack up to keep things alive. Really in awful shape at this point, but at least I haven't been playing awfully. I almost fished with 12K IN, which I knew was similar in value to this, but also knew Jason would respond to better than this.
>Jason_Li: Q 13C Q. +22 162
#note still, I hated the ominous feeling I tend to get against this man; the feeling that I am simply playing into his hand, and if I win, it's because he got very unlucky.
>Joshua_Sokol: BCELNRX K4 XEN.C +28 113
#note at a closer score, I might play K3 BERL(I)N to set up my X. I missed B6 CL(AB)BER, which has some merit in delaying Jason by leaving most of the board untouched. This means I will be able to work on that part of the board next turn. The X scores well, and mostly I'm just not giving that much back compared to this, which almost ensures Jason will score over 30 points. Luckily he didn't have much to work with. I chose this over XER(I)C not in spite of the A hook, as Jason originally thought, but because of the A hook. It forks the board pretty well if hooked to make A-XENIC. The board is now in a good shape for my taste, despite me being at a huge disadvantage given the score.
>Jason_Li: ELOPP 15C P.OPEL +30 192
>Joshua_Sokol: ABLOORS 8K .AROB +30 143
#note The peak of my distractedness occurred in this turn, when I furiously shuffled my tiles in search of a bingo, but being unable to remember ROBALOS, I ended up going with this
>Jason_Li: ADDO 3J DADO +27 219
>Joshua_Sokol: ELORSST O8 .OLSTERS +83 226
#note Didn't count 12I STEROLS. It's one more, but gives back a triple word score and this doesn't. But that triple is to my benefit actually, as Jason seems like he's treading water here. I was unhappy when I realized that this was one less.
>Jason_Li: GLM N6 GL.M +15 234
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AGNNRT 14G ReGNANT +62 288
#note RANTiNG is one more. lol come on son. I looked a while for 8s, not for another 7, but I should have seen RANTING instantly. Now somehow with insane luck, I am well ahead where Jason seems to have fallen into some awful draws. I don't deserve this, I missed ROBALOS.
>Jason_Li: AMU L3 .UMA +38 272
>Joshua_Sokol: EEIILOV C3 OLIVI.. +22 310
#note M11 EVI(T)E is better to keep the consonant. I wanted to play as many vowels as possible and score, which this does better than LIEV(E) 13K, but I really should keep my L. Well worth the points sacrifice.
>Jason_Li: EFY 12J FEY +33 305
#note also blocks a lot of stuff like this. This hurts.
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEEGIU 4C .EAGUE +16 326
#note I counted the bag twice and thought this left 3 in the bag. I also missed 11A GUI(N)EA, which has far better equity and possible outcomes. I am a huge favorite to hit the spot GUINEA creates. Weak.
>Jason_Li: ETU 2H UTE +10 315
>Joshua_Sokol: AIIITWZ 2M WIZ +35 361
#note Drawing the Z really really helped. Lucky Jason couldn't make anything else happen here. Apparently TIZ in the same spot is much better than this. It doesn't give him I1 ERECT for 22 among other things I guess.
>Jason_Li: CEEOSTT 1K SETT +13 328
#note ridiculous draw of the R, the only tile that gives me a play that scores more than 22 points that Jason has to block. This is three off O2 (Z)EST, the play I thought he was going to make.
