#note like the Z options here. he took a long time and said I could have known he had a blank but I have learned to never make time related inferences against mark if he takes fewer than like 5 mins

it's a good point though
>Mark_Edelson: ?HIOORT K1 HORnITO +72 102
>Jackson: CEKLLOZ 10L LEZ +35 127
#note Q likes CLO(n)K and LOCHE best - ELZ hits this board pretty well (almost 10 more than cklo). loche make him score 4 fewer but I have the better rack for scoring

I didn't consider clonk, and it's interesting. CKLO has some scoring power here, but when the HO spot gets blocked I guess ELZ gets stuff like GEEZ and GAZE. I didn't consider those two words so CLONK makes sense
>Mark_Edelson: IORU 1K .OURI +27 129
>Jackson: CKLORWW 2J W.W +22 149
#note I missed gowk but this is not much worse, if at all. I get relock a lot and score a lot on average
>Mark_Edelson: DFGINU 4I FU.DING +26 155
>Jackson: CIKLORR O4 .LOCK +36 185

#note silly
>Mark_Edelson: Q M3 Q. +22 177
>Jackson: CIKLORR O12 .ROK +27 176
#note considered HORK to set up -CK plays, but this is fine (gives him back less and scores 5 more). if I knew his fishing plays to come, I would have played HORK so that beatings gets blocked
>Mark_Edelson: LO 14M LO. +6 183
>Jackson: CDDIILR 15L DIR. +15 191
#note he is obv very close to a bingo and there is SSSS out.... I thought about LIRI/LI for real, but there are also 8 As out so ACUTE is big. felt like it's just futile to close beatings so I should just go for a bingo/points myself. maybe DIC(E) to give myself a scoring spot if he bingoes is really interesting. Mark tends to fish more than average I think, but LOO + QI's range is still really good
>Mark_Edelson: AO I10 A.O +10 193
>Jackson: CDEIJLM H12 MICE +41 232
#note I like this more than MILD since he played AO off, so he's vowel heavy, so the E isn't as good a lane for him as usual
>Mark_Edelson: OY L6 OY +15 208
>Jackson: ADIJLOY O4 .ADJO +42 274
#note any ACUTE blocks gives up other 7s lanes (e.g. JIAO) - after loo, avo, and oy, it's plausible he has stuff like ENORS or something, although still an A really often. this also outruns bingoes pretty well
>Mark_Edelson: AENRSTT F7 NATTERS +66 274
>Jackson: ABILNPY N1 .AI.Y +32 306
#note huge misses here - I was trying to time rush him but I think that backfired cause I cost myself some really good plays here. BY/BLET is awesome cause the pool is really E heavy, and i draw bingoes like 30% of the time.

the pool is somewhat vowel heavy so BLNP isn't as bad as usual. RAINY looks second best behind BY but still decisively a mistake.
>Mark_Edelson: EEF E11 FEE +26 300
>Jackson: BELNPPS D12 PLEB +35 341
>Mark_Edelson: EIILNRS O1 .N +4 304
>Jackson: ADINPSS E4 PADI +16 357
#note over the board I didn't come up with PINA/FA for 11, which Kenji pointed out. the downside of PADI isn't that he occasionally bingoes on column G or row 5 or column C (I outrun those bingoes pretty often), it's that he can make some scoring play and then bingo, which can outrun me. AX(E)L/FEEL is bad for me, LIM(B) and plays there, some other small X plays. PADI doesn't score enough to properly outrun in those scenarios.

Playing PSI/BOYS is interesting - go up 58 now so current bingoes won't outrun me too often (he'll have 5 tiles so I can do an out in two - it will be close and sometimes he'll outrun me but not always). I am not convinced PSI (or other outrunning plays like SP(E)D) actually does well when Mark plays off three tiles like he might with PADI. If he plays three tiles after PSI, that leaves 2 in the bag and I'll have around a 40 point lead. If I play off one tile to not empty the bag, his bingoes will almost all outrun me. There isn't anywhere to play off 4-5 tiles for me for a big score, so I can't empty the bag and outrun.

So I think it is best to try to close his bingo options cause I'm just not quite ahead by enough to outrun here. PINA does a much better job of that than PADI.
