>Don_F: IIUUUU -UUUUII +0 0
>BJ: ACIIRTT 8G TIC +10 10
#note IATRIC for 22 is best. Looks like AICRT is a better leave than AIRT, judging by Quackle's suggestions.
>Don_F: BEW 7F WEB +16 16
>BJ: AINORRT 6F OR +14 24
#note Missed CARROTIN. 6F AROINT for 25 comes up a tad better than OR.
>Don_F: OOPS I7 S.OOP +21 37
>BJ: AAINRTY J10 YA +30 54
>Don_F: EILOORS 12C ORIOLES +76 113
>BJ: AIINQRT 13B QI +26 80
#note I might have played 5D QINTAR had I noticed that spot for it. But QI has clearly better valuation.
>Don_F: BEW K11 WEB +32 145
>BJ: AINORTU D5 URINATO. +59 139
#note Was very happy to find this after searching for a while. Learned the word very early on in my competitive Scrabble life from Richard Buck, and finally am getting to play it. It was the only bingo.
>Don_F: ERZ L12 REZ +32 177
>BJ: HIMSTUV C7 HUM +33 172
#note I went for a bit more equity and somewhat worse leave here. E3 VUM is the other option. Quackle calls it a tie.
>Don_F: EGGNTU M8 NUGGET +31 208
>BJ: AEILSTV B2 ESTIVAL +95 267
#note Very psyched to find this. Wasn't sure if LUN was in TWL or # but decided to take the chance. Hoped Don couldn't do much with the A front-hook possibility.
>Don_F: ?AACHIN 1A kACHINA +106 314
#note I was feeling great for about 10 seconds after playing ESTIVAL, then this comes down! Nice find! I know the word because we bought a kachina doll while vacationing in the southwest. ACANTHI and SHAMANIC are the other two bingos.
>BJ: DEFIJOU 2E FUD +21 288
#note Sure wish I had an S. Wasn't very happy with my options here. Saw EJIDO and thought it was # so I passed it over, bummer! Still, seems like blocking that volatile H1 spot was important.
>Don_F: AEEV 8K VE.AE +27 341
>BJ: EGIJLOY 14A OILY +39 327
#note OILY comes up a little better than a couple of J dumps.
>Don_F: DEFIIRS O1 FIRESID. +89 430
#note Dang, thought I was doing a good job of staying in this one! EDIFIERS at O8 would probably have been better to prevent comeback plays ...
>BJ: ADEGJPX N4 PAX +59 386
#note APEX comes up best, perhaps because I hold the J for a possible JAR play next time.
>Don_F: AEENT 15D ENATE +24 454
#note Blocking a lane. I'm going to have to be lucky.
>BJ: ?DDEGJO 10H J.. +13 399
#note I draw the blank, now, how to maximize my opportunity to bingo next turn? A play in column M ruins bingo lane in row 3, and the 5F lane is not very good with my tiles. Somehow I overlook the obvious lane in column L. I figure I'm probably toast but decide to play off the J and hope for the best. Spent a long time thinking this through. Champ agrees! Hooray for me!
>Don_F: KLMNNRT L7 K.N +9 463
#note OMG I draw the only remaining vowel and see that Don has seven consonants. Jeez, I may actually have a slight chance here. He decides to block column L, a reasonable play if one is not 100% sure what bingos I might have, if any. He takes a very long time thinking about it, and I spent a *long* time running through the alphabet with my blank searching for something ...
>BJ: ?ADDEGO 3F GODhEAD +69 468
#note On my *second* time running through the alphabet, I get to H and ... holy crud, GODHEAD! But I can't remember if NUG is TWL or #. Well, not much sense in passing up the chance. It's good! Don challenges NUG+GODHEAD as a formality, but they're good and I pull it off. Wow. Great game all around.
