>Jim_Burlant: AFNOPRT 8G FOP +16 16
#note Championship Player barely distinguishes between PROF 8F, FRONT 8D, and this. IMO, the ANRT leave is too powerful to break up for only 24 points. Definitely for 30 points compared to 16, but not for only 8 more points. I'd make this play again.
>Matt_Canik: BBHIOOS J3 BOOBISH +79 79
#note Nice start!
>Jim_Burlant: AINOORT 7B ORATION +67 83
#note No matter how I sliced it I couldn't get around vowel placement issues. Because of that the deciding factor for me was that this didn't slot the 3x3 and the K9 placement did. It takes roughly 700 2-ply iterations before a sim establishes the K9 placement as the winner by the slimmest of margins. At 1000 iterations, the K9 placement wins 0.6% more often and sims 0.6 points better.
>Matt_Canik: GJ B6 J.G +27 106
>Jim_Burlant: AADNSUW A8 AWN +27 110
#note Prior to his play of JOG I had planned to play K5 WAD for 31, but I could not convince myself it was okay to leave A8 open. The duck says WAD was the play and that this is a 7-point dog. Can someone explain why it thinks A8 AWA is better than this? That's just stupid. Maybe AW if I had this turn to do again, but I don't see anything wrong with this given the choices.
>Matt_Canik: KUZ 5I Z.UK +34 140
>Jim_Burlant: AADINSU L3 AU. +14 124
#note Given the tile pool and its 12 unseen E's I thought a fish was called for. Q feels I should just break the rack apart with UNSAID M3 for 34. This is runner-up. UNSAID wins 40.8%; this wins 39.6 at an equity deficit of not quite 3 points.
>Matt_Canik: EIRW 2L WEIR +25 165
>Jim_Burlant: ADEILNS M5 SNAILED +78 202
#note Chose this both for the extra points and its proximity to the O column to make it that much more likely the 3x3 threat was eliminated. This is definitely best.
>Matt_Canik: CERY O1 C.YER +33 198
>Jim_Burlant: CDELRSX 6D LEX +55 257
#note Or DEX in the same location.
>Matt_Canik: EFU N10 FEU +30 228
>Jim_Burlant: ACDRSTY 8L Y.RD +36 293
#note Considered two plays here: O8 ARTY and this. What swayed me towards YIRD? ARTY left me without vowels. While a sim agrees - it says YIRD is the play and CITY in the same location is also a strong choice - I'm not convinced this was right. Honorable mention: DETRACT E5 40. 83.9% to win.
>Matt_Canik: AIMP O12 PIMA +40 268
#note What does he do here if I play ARTY on the previous turn?
>Jim_Burlant: AACNNST 5C CAN +19 312
#note CANTINAS (the only 8 in this rack) does not play and there are no 7's in this rack. This is best.
>Matt_Canik: AEM 3I A.E.M +28 296
>Jim_Burlant: AEENOST C7 .ESONATE +72 384
#note Was leery about this play but the only other bingo is NEONATES for 62 - 10 points is just too much to give up with both blanks unseen and lines all over the place. The duck agrees - just shy of 90% to win in a short sim. For reference, NEONATES wins 3% less often.
>Matt_Canik: EQRU 12A QU.RE +48 344
>Jim_Burlant: ?ADHOSV 15A DASH +45 429
#note This rack doesn't even make an 8 with any letter in the alphabet. As for this - I was 90% sure DOSH was good and 100% of DASH. DOSH is my play if I'm 100% sure of my words. A sim makes sense...sort of. Its preferred plays are DOVE E9 or C3 VAC. I see where the duck is coming from (DHOS? is plenty powerful as a leave, and DOVE takes out 2x2s on row 11)...but I have a hard time justifying those plays over a sure 45 points that eliminates his easiest scoring threat if he's got the D. I'm fine with a 15A play.
>Matt_Canik: EGINR 15A ....ERING +42 386
#note This screamed, "phony," but how sure of this did I have to be to challenge it?
>Jim_Burlant: ??ELOTV 11E OuTLiVE +86 515
#note Or OVERTLY, OUTLIVE, OVULATE, OVERLET, OVATELY, etc.
>Matt_Canik: DGIILTT 9E DIT +12 398
>Jim_Burlant: EIOTV 2G VET +8 523
#note Blocking his best out.
>Matt_Canik: GILT K10 L.GIT +6 404
>Matt_Canik: (IO) +4 408
