>Sid_Murrali: BDEIK 8D BIKED +30 30
>Jim_Burlant: ?GLNOVZ G4 GLOZ. +25 25
#note Yuck. Couldn't think of GINZO and for reasons that make no sense to me now, I felt it more important to unload the Z than the V with LOVING/VOLING down the E column. The E column plays are the obvious winners here. This is mediocre.
>Sid_Murrali: INOV H1 VINO +28 58
>Jim_Burlant: ?CCNRVW -CVW +0 25
#note I saw VOW/VROW, etc. I didn't care if VOW scored 17 or not, I just couldn't wrap my arms around the idea of keeping CCNR? with the O likely being taken out on his next turn. Question this if you must, but this did work out.
>Sid_Murrali: AW F5 AW +28 86
>Jim_Burlant: ?CEINRT H8 .ICENTRa +83 108
#note Marginally better than DOCTRINE in the same locaton for 2 reasons: vowel placement along row 13 and placing the A at 15H instead of the E.
>Sid_Murrali: AIINORT 13F AN.IRIOT +70 156
>Jim_Burlant: ?AADQSU E2 QUAD +36 144
#note The only potential bingo I saw was QUADRASE*, and I was pretty sure that was phony. QUADRATS plays at M7, but I didn't know it. I saw QUADS 14B but for some reason didn't see SQUAD. As for this: I saw the row 1 setup and, figured that it was insurance against a draw overloaded with counters on the next turn in that I could play something like HANGS or YAWNS for 40+ points and burn my S on the next turn while keepihng my blank. A sim indicates the bingo is best, SQUAD 14B is a close second, and this is a 10-point dog to the bingo as the bronze medalist.
>Sid_Murrali: EH 14F HE. +29 185
>Jim_Burlant: ?AENSST 11D SArS.NET +78 222
#note I whiffed on row 1 bingoes during the game: VASTNESS or VErSANTS look best. 63% to win.
>Sid_Murrali: AF 10H .AF +31 216
>Jim_Burlant: AAEFGJT 12L JAG +42 264
#note I finally get a play right.
>Sid_Murrali: DP 9G D.P +38 254
>Jim_Burlant: AEEFTTV 14K FETA +32 296
#note Or FEET, which plays the tile pool a bit better with its 6 unseen E's. Either is as good as the other in quackle's eyes.
>Sid_Murrali: AEL O13 ALE +17 271
>Jim_Burlant: EORTUVY I2 TUYER +21 317
#note I beg to differ with Quackle. Q wants me to play D8 BOUSY. I saw this, saw what it did to the board, and was fine with it. I like this because it kills rows 1, 2, and 3, and he can't hit a 7 if he doesn't have an S. And if he does hit a 7, it will give me O column counterplay. His only other bingo line is a probable 60-pointer down the N column which will yield O-column counterplay. This isn't one of the original choices but it does finish 4th in the sim's derby.
>Sid_Murrali: EEMNU 10B NEUME +20 291
>Jim_Burlant: HILOOPV F1 HIP +27 344
#note Considered OVOLI 15B, but paranoia about the S hook I opened up when I whiffed on QUADRATS got to me. I was leery about keeping duplicated O's, but rationalized it away by telling myself he might have pulled a few of them with his 5-tile draw on the last turn. 70% to win. A sim wants me to play 4A VOILA - no thanks. Maybe LIP instead so he can't hit -SH words on row 1.
>Sid_Murrali: ERX 12C REX +38 329
>Jim_Burlant: DILOOOV 15B OVOLI +15 359
#note No quackle, not VOILA 4A.
>Sid_Murrali: RY 6F ..R.Y +19 348
>Jim_Burlant: DEMOSTW 9A MOW +23 382
#note I didn't look closely enough at the unseen pool - ANEURISM A2 would have been a threat. This was reckless on my part. Much better would have been 9C WO. Then again, given this tournament, misktakes would only be rewarded, so I got away with this:
>Sid_Murrali: BEGILOO A6 GLI. +21 369
>Jim_Burlant: ABDEOST 7I SABOTED +77 459
#note Only bingo.
>Sid_Murrali: CINORSU N2 SOURC. +28 397
#note ONRUSH or INRUSH 1A 45.
>Jim_Burlant: E O7 .E +9 468
>Jim_Burlant: (IN) +4 472
