#note tricky play. I had convinced myself after the game that this was a huge error, but PUDGY sims only about 5 off of DUPE. Although PUDGY does clean up my rack a lot, it gives back an extra 8-9 points per turn to nigel. Just PUG at G6 is also something I considered, but I wasn't sure how my DERW rack would play next turn. Conrad pointed out that DUPE at G6 might set up WRY/DUPER at 10F next turn. In any case, playing parallel is almost always stronger than perpendicularly, which proves true again here.

#note I'm already feeling some urgency after PUDGY set him up for a strong play.

#note this was a very painful play. I probably took 5 minutes to choose it, and didn't feel especially comfortable. what I liked is that it forks the board when things are already starting to close up. his next play is fairly likely to block the big NEWBS hook. another choice I saw was GUACO at G10, but the ESU leave doesn't threaten anything that immediate.

#note a worst-case scenario. should I have foreseen this type of play when I played AUSUBO?
>JD: ?BCDEIT I1 BIsECT.D +65 143
#note perhaps DACITE/CHOPS? Bifurcates things nicely, but he's almost certain to cover the E, and I'm not left with too much.

>JD: AIIJLNS 5K ..JA +11 154
#note looks awful, but is the highest bingo percentage move I can find at this point. GAIJIN at 10G doesn't seem to accomplish much.
>Nigel: EGNOORS N1 OREG.NOS +72 299
>JD: DIILNST 1L DI.L +21 175
#note perhaps time to start cutting spread and play NITID here. Perhaps I should play INDOL and attempt to draw RAINOUTS (a nice 256/73815 shot). Then again, the odds are probably good enough that I can comeback by conventional means.

#note meh. maybe just give up and block.

#note I couldn't see anything worth fishing for, but I didn't look at the IS - could've tried for CANTHARIS (which I knew) or CANTHITIS, inflammation of the CANTHUS (eyelid), which actually has a nice shot at hitting after IRK.
>Nigel: ENTT 15H TENT +28 421
>JD: ?ACHINR 3K .CH. +30 308
#note should play CHINWAG to guarantee an out.
>Nigel: AORTT J1 AT +14 435
>JD: ?AINR N10 .AR.s +21 329
#note I had outs but ran out of time, and failed to spot I was giving him a nice out. went over by a minute.
