>Joshua_Sokol: AOOPSTU H6 UPO +10 10
>Lloyd_Mills: ?EGISTT I6 TESTInG +68 68
#note First 9C, then switched to this at the last moment. Crushing for me.
>Joshua_Sokol: AANORST H12 ANTA +19 29
#note My bingo rack turned into an airball. ARNATTOS would have been available after the first bingo he played. But wait! I still had ASTRONA(UT) at 6A! Definitely the nerves kicking in, I should see that very easily.
>Lloyd_Mills: CDEGN 10F CED.NG +18 86
>Joshua_Sokol: EIORRSS 14A SORRIES. +70 99
#note I first put down J1 SORRIES, then remembered that SORRIES* was phony! I proceeded to play this shortly after, forgetting that SORRIES* has a valid anagram, ORRISES. That plays at J1 for one more point and is safer than my placement of SORRIES(T).
>Lloyd_Mills: BDEEMRU J1 UMBERED +81 167
#note held and released.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AAIILL 11K ILIAL +16 115
#note This looked like a potential bingo rack, but I just couldn't find it. 2H fA(M)ILIAL is a word I knew, and 3F bILA(B)IAL is not. BILABIAL is the best play here. I opted for this, hoping I could get one good draw to take a commanding lead. Three triple-triples open! I got very antsy here, felt way more behind than the score indicated given all of the possible scoring options Lloyd had. 11K ILIA sims better, and I did consider it as well, but I was really pushing the ballgame and it felt right. Unfortunately my chances of drawing into something good next turn are only 1/2 after this play. Given my triple-double rack of AAIILL?, I got confused into thinking this kept an L, which is slightly better than an A on this board.
>Lloyd_Mills: EGUV N10 V.GUE +34 201
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AEHIUW A12 WI.H +42 157
>Lloyd_Mills: AANP 12K PAN.A +33 234
>Joshua_Sokol: ?ADEMOU 4F EUDA.MOn +74 231
#note fortunately I kept looking at this rack long after deciding I was just not seeing it if I had it.
>Lloyd_Mills: LNXY 3D LYNX +41 275
>Joshua_Sokol: BEEINNO D8 BONNIE. +24 255
#note This is the turn where I felt the most helpless. I knew I must have screwed up most of my other turns to have ended up here, having to close the board down to squeeze out 24 points.
>Lloyd_Mills: AHJ C7 HAJ +46 321
>Joshua_Sokol: EEEIOQW E7 WOE +21 276
#note I also considered 3L WOE, which is champ's choice by a small margin. I probably do need the case S here, but I felt better about hoping for a huge play on row H and catching Lloyd with dreck. WOE seemed counterproductive, in that it seemed to interfere with my outside chance of cashing the Q for a bunch.
>Lloyd_Mills: ARSV 15L VARS +43 364
#note ok, now I'm almost definitely not going to win. Can I pull something unlikely off?
>Joshua_Sokol: CEEEIQY 5J .YE +28 304
#note ok, one last shot. Hope he blocks the wrong spot (column B)
>Lloyd_Mills: DKOR 1G DRO.K +30 394
#note gg.
>Joshua_Sokol: CEEIOQT 11B CI.Q +30 334
#note one time?
>Lloyd_Mills: AIIL 2J .ILIA +20 414
>Joshua_Sokol: EEFOTTZ D2 Z.OTE +28 362
>Lloyd_Mills: FORT 1M OFT +25 439
>Joshua_Sokol: EFT G12 FE.T +20 382
>Joshua_Sokol: (R) +2 384
#note I was never really in this game to begin with, due to having missed ASTRONA(UT) and ORRISES early on. Congrats are due to Lloyd. I hope I can win next year!
