>Ed_de_Guzman: ADO 8H ADO +8 8
>JD: ADEEIIS I7 I.EA +7 7
#note his play signals a strong leave, so I wanted to maximize my chances of bingoing in response. However, my play opens up nice double-doubles for him, which I should avoid. With a strong inference, Quackle loves IDEE at 9G because it offer no 8s, and any 7 he plays won't score much and will offer me a chance at a retaliation 8 through a bunch of letters. IDEE even performs well against a random rack due to the lack of any scoring plays. As Eldar would say, this is the kind of play that should become standard as strategy progresses, but for now is still counter-intuitive to me.

>JD: ACESTTU K3 ACUTEST +73 144
>Ed_de_Guzman: HO J13 OH +32 109
>JD: DEEEEOY 4K .OYED +26 170
#note DECOY forks the board. if I can shut down the top-right the board is starting to look pretty dead.
>Ed_de_Guzman: EOP 3M OPE +27 136
>JD: EEEELYZ O1 EY.. +24 194
#note gives back a ton of cheap points. I prefer EELY at L9 on this turn.

>JD: AEEEJLZ L9 AJEE +24 218
>Ed_de_Guzman: IILLNOR -IILLN +0 170
>JD: EKLSSTZ 15F ZE..S +21 239
#note TSK at M11 best by very far because ET can almost never be hooked productively. this is a really poor play, ran out of time. ideally I want to hold the Z until I can draw ZINE at 7H to well and truly kill the board.
>Ed_de_Guzman: AHR K11 RAH +29 199
>JD: IKLNSTU F11 KLUT. +20 259
#note could save the K, but this way ed will likely play across to the K, and I can underlap to keep things blocked
>Ed_de_Guzman: BIIOORR 11C BIL. +20 219
>JD: ?GIIINS 12D NI. +12 271
#note missed INSIGNIA. Failing that, a good time to fork the board with JIG at 10L and press my advantage - unlikely I'll get punished.
>Ed_de_Guzman: FFO G7 OFF +23 242
>JD: ?GIIIOS 10L .IG +15 286
#note hrm.
>Ed_de_Guzman: BERV 6D VERB +23 265
>JD: ?DIIOOS O8 ODS +24 310
#note difficult play. to block or not? in retrospect, I think not - there are plenty of ways ed can catch me without bingoing on column O; keeping that lane is to my advantage since I am much more likely to use it. Now I like IDIOT at 14B - challenges him to spot the VIDIOT hook, gives me counterplay if he does indeed bingo on column O.
>Ed_de_Guzman: NRT E5 T.RN +8 273
>JD: ?GIIORV F2 VIGO. +19 329
>Ed_de_Guzman: LMN 3E L.MN +9 282
#note I'm not sure why he made this move. makes my life easier.
>JD: ?EEGIRT H1 TI.GE +24 353
#note RENIG would save the case T, and negate possibility of duplicated Rs. The T would also let me chance into more bingos on column N a la INTEGRAL
>Ed_de_Guzman: NU C9 NU. +6 288
>JD: ?ENRRSW B7 WREN +15 368
#note tricky play, he threatens QUARTAN. It turns out that I can win just by scoring enough (WIS or STREWN), but I was scared that I had missed a bingo with AALNRU? that could reach down to B10, in which case I lose by drawing the Q. my block works in TWL, but not in CSW.
>Ed_de_Guzman: ?AALNRU N8 LA.UNAs +19 307
#note his best play - nice block
>JD: ?QRS 13B QiS +25 393
>Ed_de_Guzman: R 13N .R +2 309
>Ed_de_Guzman: (R) +2 311
