>Mina: EIORUXY F7 O.YX +30 30
#note Best play.
>Peter_Armstrong: ANW E10 AWN +21 95
>Mina: EEIIORU D11 OURIE +21 51
#note Argh that's like the second time this tournament that I've missed EUOI, which is the best play at D12 followed closely by G10. Another Collins-newbie mistake, to look at this rack and mainly see OURIE (which sims third-best).
>Peter_Armstrong: ALQT J5 TAL.Q +16 111
>Mina: EINRTTV 15A INV.RT +27 78
#note Extremely surprised that Quackle favors fishing off the T with 10D T(AX) for 16 leaving EINRTV. Seriously?! That leave is *that* great, *and* you expect row 15 to stay open?!!! Quackle's second choice is C9 VINT for 20 leaving ERT, which I don't like either because why would you leave row 15 open? Third best is 15A VIT(E) for 21 leaving ENRT, and I can see the merit in that, given that you have column H to play through.
>Peter_Armstrong: ALOPR B10 PROLA. +28 139
>Mina: BEEGOPT A7 BEGO +25 103
#note Best play.
>Peter_Armstrong: ?ELNOOS B1 cONSOLE +70 209
#note A few double-doubles for 78 were available (which I didn't know): sOLONETS, mOONLETS, SOLONETz.
>Mina: BEHPTTZ H7 Z.BETH +24 127
#note One of the weirdest things I've learned in the last couple of weeks, since I started on this Quackle journey, is that the Z is a great tile to keep. This move is a prime example: I would've thought ZIBETH was markedly superior because it cleans up the rack better, and yet C2 BETH for 33 leaving PTZ is Quackle's first choice, with a valuation that's a whopping 13.3 points more than my play's (which comes in second).

That's so counterinuitive to me when I'm looking at this six-consonant rack; C2 BETH is also a relatively difficult play to find, for me (because of the ST maybe).
>Peter_Armstrong: EES 13H SEE +25 234
#note Gah telegraphing an S.
>Mina: EJMPSTT K4 JET +26 153
#note Despite having played off plenty of consonants, I again have a one-vowel rack. My play is second best because 12A J(O)T(UN) scores only six points less but keeps the vowel.
>Peter_Armstrong: EFI 14J FIE +27 261
>Mina: IMOPSTU 15L MOUP +40 193
#note Best play.
>Peter_Armstrong: AAEGNST L1 AGNATES +92 353
>Mina: AIINSTW 2E WAISTIN. +66 259
#note Wowwww, another big surprise: Quackle does *not* want you to play the bingo here, even though the valuations of WAITINGS and WAISTING are highest, and even though your win percentage is less than 0.6% no matter what you do. Instead Quackle wants you to fish with M3 AW or K9 IWI. I'm really not sure I agree with that; my mentality was "the game is lost, so I'm going to minimize spread."
>Peter_Armstrong: DGIU 1G GUID +32 385
>Mina: AHIKLUY 1A A.HY +39 298
#note Big oops, I missed I(c)KY in the same spot. Again Quackle is being weird, saying that M7 HAIKU is best despite scoring much less. Why wouldn't you just minimize spread the way I'm doing?
>Peter_Armstrong: ADF 13L FAD +22 407
#note Four tiles remain in the bag at the start of this play. I think the reason Peter's so cavalierly opening the triple lane is because he sees that the unseen pool is ugly, while his own tiles are pleasing.
>Mina: CIKLMUV E2 .ICK +26 324
#note Indeed, I can't take advantage of column O, so he must have already held both of the last E's when he made that setup. But what I didn't consider at all was blocking the setup. I guess I didn't register it as a setup at the time, which is a grande mistake! Hellooo, that's why Championship Player prefers N10 VIL(D).
>Peter_Armstrong: DEEINOR O7 ORDINEE +85 492
#note The result of my failure to block. I need to start recognizing these types of setup moves and to play more defensively in response.
