>Scott_Jackson: AIKU 8G KUIA +16 16
>Mina: CEIRSTU K2 CURITES +77 77
>Mina: AEEHLRT (challenge) +5 82
#note Best play. (He challenged the hook.)
>Scott_Jackson: AEEGIRS 2G GRAE.ISE +76 92
>Scott_Jackson: DEHO (challenge) +5 97
>Mina: AEEHLRT 5F ETHER.AL +61 143
#note Sixth-best after 4F and 4D LATHERER, which I wouldn't have been sure of; 6G and 6D HEARTLET, which is cute but I didn't know it; and N2 ETHEREAL, which admittedly scores two points more than my spelling but to my mind is a starkly inferior play defensively.
>Scott_Jackson: DEHO 1L HOED +49 146
>Mina: EELOPQR H7 Q.EP +15 158
#note Q(I) for 21 leaving EELOPR wins the sim, I guess because it scores so much more than runners-up Q(U)OP or Q(U)EP for 15. Perplexingly, QUOP sims above QUEP even though I see two inferior things about it: it leaves duplicates on your rack, and it takes an -S whereas QUEP doesn't.
>Scott_Jackson: ABDEFOR 4A FORBADE +89 235
>Mina: BELOORT 1H OB +22 180
#note Wow, didn't know the sexy BOLTRO(P)E! 6E OB sims second-best, whereas my 1H OB places eighth, even though they score the same and keep the same leave, and my play can be said to be defensively better since it closes the triple. I guess it must be because I'm so far behind that I should be creating openings rather than closing them.
>Scott_Jackson: LNOW A4 .LOWN +33 268
>Mina: AELORTU A1 OUT..... +42 222
#note Best play by far.
>Scott_Jackson: FOY 6D FOY +32 300
#note FOY would have scored eight more points at B6!
>Mina: ADELNRY B6 YEALD +41 263
#note Oh my word, there were three bingos available, none of which looks like an English word! DEARNLY, REPANDLY, PANDERLY. Next best are the clever finds of 3J NUDELY and RUDELY, which each leave a vowel and are therefore better than my play even though they score less; and 9F NY(E)D and 9G Y(E)N, which both score less than I did but keep great leaves -- I think the KY hook is harder to see for recent Collins converts.
There's also the problem that my play is phony. Must have been thinking of YEALM/YELM and YELD. YEARD works here.
>Scott_Jackson: ?ACENPU 10D UNCA.PEd +71 371
>Mina: GIMMNOR C7 MM +25 288
#note Best play.
>Scott_Jackson: LTZ D9 L.TZ +26 397
>Mina: GINOORT E10 .OON +23 311
#note Huge mistake. Even though my win percentage is under 2.2% at this point, that's no excuse for breaking up the -ING. 12 (Z)O and E10 (N)OO win. My reasoning was that there were three N's unseen and that there'd more flexibility to back-hook NOON than to back-hook NOO; I guess I was just petrified of keeping the N and drawing another N.
>Scott_Jackson: DIJ C2 JI.D +24 421
>Mina: GIIRRTV 11J RIG +12 323
#note Sixth best; best was 12B VI(ZO)R for better score and better leave, but I was trying to open up another lane.
>Scott_Jackson: ?AAINSV 14E SAVArIN +68 489
#note Nail in the coffin.
>Mina: EGINRTV A10 INVERT +42 365
#note Ewwwwww, I had no idea VERTING was a word. Would've scored 91 points at 12H.
>Scott_Jackson: AEIISWX H13 W.X +39 528
>Mina: GNT G8 .N.G +13 378
#note Oops, 3I GN(U) scored three more points than this.
>Scott_Jackson: AEIIS L11 .IES +20 548
>Mina: T L1 ..T +8 386
>Mina: (AI) +4 390
