VEENA scores better than anything except DRAM, takes away -ING bingoes in Column G, leaves a bingo-unfriendly bag to play through V or E, and makes it very difficult for Sid to score at all if he doesn't hit a bingo. I can't remember whether or not I saw DRAM at the time - which is the other reason why VEENA is such a winner - though I know I saw DRAM/DRAB when figuring out the endgame while Sid considered his next move.
