#player1 Mina Mina
#player2 Sam_Rosin Sam Rosin
>Mina: CEEEFOU -CEEFOU +0 0
#note Quackle would keep CE. I chose to keep only E, which is second best.
>Sam_Rosin: AEFJNT 8D FANJET +40 40
>Mina: EGOORXY D8 .OREX +30 30
#note Quackle prefers 9G OXO. Easy lesson here: don't burn nice letters like E and R if you don't have to (OXO even scores more than my play).
>Sam_Rosin: ADERW C9 WADER +49 89
>Mina: ADEGOVY B10 VOYAGE +75 105
#note I made the right play, even though it ended up burning me bad.
>Sam_Rosin: AELNOPR 15A P.RONEAL +149 238
>Mina: ADILOOT 9F OO +15 120
#note Lol, Quackle already has my win percentage well below 5% for any possible move, and Quackle hasn't even seen more than *one* of Sam's five consecutive bingos. Here, I overrated the strength of an ADILT leave. I should have accelerated turnover to try to see a blank.
>Sam_Rosin: AINPRTU H1 PAINTUR. +83 321
#note Nice post-bingo draw.
>Mina: AADGILT 10F GLIA +27 147
#note Lol again: my win percentage has fallen to 0.18% or below. I made one of the two best plays, the other being 10F GLAD, which has a lower "valuation" but sims a titch higher (huh?).
>Sam_Rosin: ADEHINR 5F AN.HERID +74 395
#note OK, I know that one too....
>Mina: ADHITUU 11I HUIA +19 166
#note Win percentage has declined further, to a max of 0.03% for 4J DUH, which I failed to see. Quackle's second and third choices of 4L HAUT and 4L HAUD open a triple-triple, which I would indeed need, but both result in an unpromising leave that contains IU. Looks like I overvalued my leave of DTU; it's a surprising lesson that the best play would have a leave of AITU, but it does score ten points more.
>Sam_Rosin: ABCDIIS L7 DIAB.SIC +78 473
>Sam_Rosin: BEEIMST (challenge) +5 478
#note The best plays found by Quackle are N1 DIBASIC for 91 or M7 DIBASIC for 92. This being five-point challenge, I would have challenged either DIBASIC or DIABASIC.
>Mina: DELSTTU 3G D.LUTEST +74 240
>Mina: DELSTTU -- -74 166
#note Omg, I had a bingo here and I didn't know it! Had never seen SUTTLED. Instead I played something I was pretty sure was phony, just out of contrariness -- lashing out.
>Sam_Rosin: BEEIMST 2F BE.MIEST +70 548
#note Oh hi, nice tiles there.
>Mina: DELSTTU 14I DUL.ET +22 188
#note Third best, after the bingo and after 1K DUETT which I didn't know.
>Sam_Rosin: ELOVY 6B LOVEY +34 582
>Mina: ?GNSTUW 8K W.NGS +27 215
#note "WINGNUTS through an I or an N," I muttered to myself forlornly. Quackle prefers N5 SWUNG, which scores more and dumps the U, but my play is second best. Keeps column O open for bingos.
>Sam_Rosin: FIK 4L KIF +35 617
>Mina: ??NOQTU 3C eQUaT.ON +97 312
#note Down 402 points but I've drawn the second blank, thank god. Notice that Sam didn't need no blanks. Oh hey, Quackle found that QUOT(I)eNT is also possible (scores less).
>Sam_Rosin: CEMOSTZ 15M MOZ +48 665
#note Sam later discovered that he would've had O12 ZEST for 79. The problem was that both of us had scanned DULCET as purely adjectival. "If I had played ZEST and gotten +5 for the challenge [of DULCETS], I would've broken 700," he told me ruefully.
>Mina: EIR 4B REI +29 341
#note At least I found the correct outplay. This was my first match against Sam and I hope we'll have more competitive ones in the future!
>Mina: (CEST) +12 353
