#note This was an interesting start to the game. I considered C(U)Z and ZE(E) at both F6 and B6. I didn't like GEEZ at all, the CINV leave looked atrocious not only for scoring, but also for getting a bingo or keeping the board open for a comeback. ZE(E) looked better at B6 at first, because it left more floaters open, but then F6 seemed to do a much better job of forking the board. But CUZ's leave just seemed much better than anything else, so I went with that. GEEZ F7 sims 2nd, because the G, even with IN to boot, is the worst tile in the game.

>Joshua_Sokol: EEGINRV 5F .EVERING +80 107
#note Thought this was phony! I have played an interesting FEVER phony before. Aha, it was SUBFEVER*!
>Kevin_Bowerman: AQU 4K QUA +42 136
>Joshua_Sokol: LNSTXYY N2 SLY +28 135
#note This turn was really tough because I missed LYNX again!!!! I looked for X 4s, I just can't see LYNX. It plays at 3L for 45 points, way better than anything else. I realized after playing this that it gave back a fairly large S hook and that I was getting rid of my S for no good reason, but I didn't see LYNX, which is even better than SLY in its inferior spot, G10. STY also sims better than SLY because it keeps LYNX on my rack.

>Joshua_Sokol: INNOTXY 6M OXY +33 168
#note I didn't like NIXY or ONYX at E10 because they left big possible overlaps for Kevin, but he seems consonant-heavy, so maybe ONYX is fine.
>Kevin_Bowerman: EH O6 .EH +27 182
>Joshua_Sokol: EIINNOT H8 .OTININE +83 251
#note whew! And he challenged!
>Kevin_Bowerman: ?HIORRT - +0 182
>Joshua_Sokol: AADNNOS D8 .ANDA +27 278
>Kevin_Bowerman: ?HIORRT 15B bROTHI.R +61 243
#note I was really hoping he would make the blank an F, but he didn't. I only had an ounce of uncertainty regarding BROTHIER*, and it turns out, another top player had the same issue in a more challenging position. BROTHIER* was played at least twice in Div 1 and nobody challenged it! BROTHY cannot compare.
>Joshua_Sokol: ALMNOSW H1 WON +29 307
#note I could just go for O1 MOAS now, but I may have missed it. It's interesting, LNW is just really awful, but MOAS might be the better play. Quackle loves the synergy of ALMNS after just playing WO, as I can play through the I in JIBED next turn. I'm amazed at just how much better WO sims, but apparently just about every time I draw two vowels, and a lot of the time that I draw a vowel and a consonant, I hit a bingo. -5
>Kevin_Bowerman: BFR 12C B.RF +9 252
>Joshua_Sokol: AEILMOS O1 MOAS +43 350
#note And it would have probably worked too! SEMOL(I)NA or something
>Kevin_Bowerman: EGLPT 3C PELT..G +24 276
>Joshua_Sokol: EIIILMT I9 MITE +22 372
#note I liked MITE's defense, but ITEM plays at 4A for 4 more and has good scoring benefits following it. I'd play this again but perhaps that's just not where this board needs to go.
>Kevin_Bowerman: DRW D1 DR.W +20 296
>Joshua_Sokol: AEIILOU N8 AIOLI +12 384
#note This was a defining moment. I am ahead a bingo with a crappy rack. I can't score that much, the only thing that scores is 14F UL(N)AE which is 20. I could exchange and leave all my crap in the bag, but I think I should make a play here and get further ahead. I saw AU(D)IO, which provided a good leave and prevented Kevin from making a bingo setup on the top left which would force me to block for very little or try and outrun, making the game very close. I liked AUDIO for that reason. Problem was I still might get outrun by a big bingo. UL(N)AE probably just scores too much to discard as an option, and also blocks unlikely but dangerous options on lane 14 and 13. And then there was AIOLI, which complicated the game a lot, turned over more tiles to maximize my chances at getting something that scored well, and most of all immediately blocked a lot of what Kevin could have. But the pool was really too nice for me to hope to prevent Kevin from hitting a bingo. I think I should have played ULNAE.
>Kevin_Bowerman: LO 4B LO. +10 306
#note The type of play I was worried about it. Luckily it's a weak, easy-to-hit setup.
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEEKSU A1 UKASE +38 422
#note A very nice draw to seal the deal. Just hoping Kevin doesn't get one of those weird insertion bingos that are available on this board, or even a big overlap on column M.
>Kevin_Bowerman: ?ADERST 13G D.SRATEs +85 391
#note This scores the best, and came down pretty instantaneously, but L4 was also a lane! Kevin has 3 9s there that score 85 as well, and I'm sure he would have played one of them if he had seen them.
