>Noah_Berger: BIIMN G8 NIMBI +26 26
>Joshua_Sokol: EFIMRUU -FUU +0 70
#note With a board already bereft of scoring opportunities, this seemed like a great opportunity to exchange, balance my rack, keep a flexible bingo/scoring tile (the M) and await for Noah to deal with the mess he created with his last play. I could be convinceed to play I4 FUME or 10E FU(ME), but this was also a good way to get a feel for how Noah plays, as I knew nothing about him coming in besides that he was likely underrated. 10E FU(ME) sims around 3 points better than my exchange.
>Noah_Berger: III -III +0 26
>Joshua_Sokol: EILLMRU 6F MI.UL +15 85
#note now following his exchange, I make a play in stark contrast with my last, simply going for equity. I figured that if he was close to a bingo, my play might help a little bit, but really not much, since I am blocking the only floater on the board as well as the R. Quackle concurs that Noah hits a bingo slightly less after MIAUL than after passing. I think that it's more just considering his range of exchanges, but that's just me. This is sort of giving up on the closed board we had going, and I hated myself a bit for it.
>Noah_Berger: IZ 8G ..ZI +13 39
#note ooh, weird

>Joshua_Sokol: AEEEELR 5E EEL +12 97
#note He really can't have a wide range of rack leaves after that play, but I couldn't put my finger on what he had. I did think he had a blank, but I might have been wrong. Regardless, I felt as vulnerable as ever with this play. I really should have played 5C ALEE, but I didn't want to give that free board-closing bingo lane at F4. I can block that next turn with EER, so ALEE is fine in retrospect. I just didn't think I had time to block.
>Noah_Berger: GIJN 11E JI..NG +32 71
#note what is going on here. Was he keeping an ING bingo leave this whole time?
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEEORW D4 AWARE +25 122
#note This seemed automatic but it shouldn't have. Playing short with AWE (I don't like AWEE, it's clearly worse than AWARE) leaves me more vulnerable leave-wise, but less vulnerable if he immediately hits me with a bingo. He still might have a blank.
>Noah_Berger: AOV 12C AVO +21 92
#note good news!
>Joshua_Sokol: EEIILOU 7B OU.IE +11 133
#note And now, when my vowel dump seems clearest, I get punished for opening a lane.
>Noah_Berger: ?ABERTT B1 BETATR.n +72 164
#note ABETTORS seems better here, but a marginal difference.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEHILUV A8 ULVAE +30 163
#note And now with nowhere for VIHUELA, I commit a classic mistake of playing a phony. I phony a lot when my bingo doesn't play. I miss ELUVIA which is just better than everything, and decide even though I'm not 100% on ULVAE*, UVEAL is bad because he could have XI. There is one I in the bag at this point, and one X. I also hold HI for the overlap next turn, which is actually significant. Come on son! I also considered AHI A1, but I felt this spot was more hittable.
>Noah_Berger: QT C11 Q.T +24 188
>Joshua_Sokol: HILOSTT 1A O.IT +21 184
#note Was gonna play J11 (G)OTH to set up my S but I figured he had one of his own. No need to get antsy.
>Noah_Berger: ADN 4D .ND +13 201
>Joshua_Sokol: HILOSTY 11E ......LY +42 226
#note Was secretly hoping for that Y. Hi Bnjy! 14A HOSTLY was a lot, 53, but still not worth it over this.
>Noah_Berger: CPSU 14A CUSP +29 230
>Joshua_Sokol: CFHIOST 12L OF +20 246
#note I hated that I couldn't hit at 15D spot, but this was a strong option for me. CHIST hits a lot of the time I draw one vowel, and if I don't draw a vowel, I have a big play starting at N10 a good proportion; FITCH, GITCH, WITCH... I missed 2A F(E)TICH which is a good option as well, to dig deeper into the bag and set up a counter for the 15D spot.
>Noah_Berger: DF 2A F.D +15 245
>Joshua_Sokol: CHIOPST N9 PHOTICS +100 346
#note Crossing my fingers here that I'm not making this up.
>Noah_Berger: H - +0 245
#note Noah is pretty sure PHOTICS is good too, but needs to challenge.
>Joshua_Sokol: EEGOORT 15D ERGOT +26 372
#note gotta still block the 3x3 I think. This does it best while maximizing turnover and score
>Noah_Berger: H 15N .H +15 260
#note Noah is agonizing at this point...
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AEEORS O3 AcEROSE +72 444
#note OvERSEA accomplishes the same thing (doesn't give back a lane ending in S or form (P)A to give back a lane for an S bingo). It scores 8 more. Stupid miss
>Noah_Berger: DEGNNSY K2 DYNES +26 286
#note This scores, but only leaves Noah one area of the board to go out in two. This allows me to set a trap. 13J DYNE(I)N is 36, but 7L GYN(O) is his out-in-two. This is a whopping 29 points worse
>Joshua_Sokol: AEKORWX 4J K.OW +22 466
#note The trap.
>Noah_Berger: GN E11 ..G +11 297
#note Noah now has to play L4 (O)N to minimize spread damage. This play is more obvious but incorrect. 6 more points off optimal play.
>Joshua_Sokol: AERX M2 RE.AX +30 496
>Joshua_Sokol: (N) +2 498
