>Joshua_Sokol: EEEJLTY -JEEY +0 0
#note This exchange looked so wrong but I didn't have anywhere to put my J. Well, until around 3 years ago when they updated the word list. Let's miss EEJIT for the 100th time! I was going to play 7H LYE because that set up good points for my J, but LYE is only better than an exchange because of the times that I draw an I for D8 EEJIT!!!
>Ed_de_Guzman: HLRU 7H HURL +13 35
#note U-less Q becomes Q-less U episode #999
>Joshua_Sokol: DEEGLST 6F LEG +13 13
#note J6 D(R)EG is a nice options I didn't consider. It plays better defense and better offense than LEG does, just scoring 3 fewer. But it's not enough of a sacrifice of points to discard. TEG also does better than LEG because DELS is a better leave than DEST. I was trying to maximize the value of my S here, which was a valiant effort.
>Ed_de_Guzman: GOSV L4 VOGS +24 59
>Joshua_Sokol: ADEOPST J2 PASTO.ED +69 82
#note This scores the most, but still leaves that S open for business on a free bingo lane. Hopefully that will be blocked very soon with a play on row 5.
>Ed_de_Guzman: EGMR E6 GERM +13 72
#note Protecting the S hook, probably keeping 3 consonants. Interesting!
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEEEIU -AAEEIU +0 82
#note Now that he had impeded column 10, I was happy to play through this and go with 9I A(D)IEU, but he is signalling a lack of vowels here, which means the pool is vowel-heavy, which means that tilts the scales in favor of not keeping AEE on my rack. Close call.
>Ed_de_Guzman: FOU I3 FOU +23 95
#note thank you for blocking ze lane sir, but now I am behind
>Joshua_Sokol: DELMNNP D9 MEND +20 102
#note Yeah, I guess we can forget about the pool being vowel-heavy, yowza! He apparently has some vowels now given his last play. Too many tiles left to know for sure if I would have pulled consos after ADIEU. Almost missed this out of pure tilt of drawing 6 consos after exchanging 6 vowels. Mm, board vision. The big problem with this play is that it still allows for a lot of 8A plays, either ending in ER or AR, so it might have been slightly better to keep duplicates and go with MELD instead?? Tough call.
>Ed_de_Guzman: BINY C12 INBY +21 116
#note Both of us are really just chugging along here, awful racks alike.
>Joshua_Sokol: ABELNPS 15A BL.PE +45 147
#note Really wanted to try B(Y)PLANES* here.
>Ed_de_Guzman: AEIU 9I A.IEU +8 124
#note hehe that's funny cause
>Joshua_Sokol: AFIJNNS 10F JINN +29 176
>Ed_de_Guzman: EHIRSTT N3 TITHERS +75 199
#note I wondered if SHITTER had been added. It had, but I think I might have challenged if he played it. Ed was pretty sure it was no good.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AEFKRS 14E FAKeERS +72 248
#note I couldn't see FORSAKE on this rack, but I should just play 8A FAKE(R) for 48! Better than an immediate bingo. Pretty significant lapse. This was held for a while.
>Ed_de_Guzman: AX 15G AX +57 256
#note Definite punishment for my mistake.
>Joshua_Sokol: CIRTTTY 11I YTTRIC +28 276
>Ed_de_Guzman: DIOV O1 VOID +37 293
>Joshua_Sokol: AAILNOT 13F TOLA +28 304
#note I'm kinda worried about the blank here, hence why I didn't play from 8A just to take the spot away. Fishing is not part of the plan for now though, his last plays seemed forced so maybe he's not holding too well. Quackle favors 8A plays by around 5 points but my inference worked out for me.
>Ed_de_Guzman: EORZ B10 ZERO +39 332
>Joshua_Sokol: ACDEINN 8A CEDA. +36 340
#note And wow was I happy to draw all of these consonants! Incredibly, the only consonants left unseen are two W's, which I have a strong chance of outrunning. I had a hard time choosing between plays here but I really shouldn't have thrown that E out there, since WOWE(E) might kill me in the pre-endgame, as I'm not quite ahead. Also, most importantly I should not throw that D out there, since WIdOWE(D) is a killer as well. CANE(R) is the best play here. By a good margin. Damn.
>Ed_de_Guzman: OW M4 OW +19 351
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AAEINN O6 ANE +22 362
#note I was gifted with this blank and giften with this win.
>Ed_de_Guzman: AEIOUW 15K OWE +12 363
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AIN N11 .ANId +18 380
>Joshua_Sokol: (AIU) +6 386
#note OWE was scored as 13, so final 364-386. Really lucky grind.
