>Mitch_Brook: IIKT 8G TIKI +16 16
>Jim_Burlant: ABEITUV 7E UVEA +13 13
#note A hair too much rack grooming. VITA 9F scores 21.
>Mitch_Brook: AILOV 9C VIOLA +17 33
>Jim_Burlant: BEEGHIT D8 B.GHT +28 41
#note Not thrilled with the EEI leave but I couldn't see giving up 10 - 12 scoreboard points for plays like D8 EIGHT, etc. The duck sees it differently; it sys J6 BEIGE was the play for 16.
>Mitch_Brook: ?AAELNN K2 ANNEALs +70 103
>Jim_Burlant: DEEIJUX 6B JEUX +43 84
#note For the second time in my last 3 tournaments I miss JINX (or some inflected form thereof). JINXED 3I should have been the play for 58.
>Mitch_Brook: DOOW L2 WOOD +30 133
>Jim_Burlant: ADEEEIR 2K ..EE +14 98
#note Q says I need to be more aggressive with EIDE E11. With 5 R's unseen? Really? Maybe EIDER, but I never saw either of those. I just thought this was a fishing turn, but I do think Quackle is correct here. 26% to win. EIDE ostensibly wins 28.
>Mitch_Brook: PRT M1 P.RT +21 154
#note When PORT came down, I started getting concerned. It wasn't about the score - he's only scoring 21. But he's dumping the R's and T's that would turn my rack into a bingo while my fishing plays are getting nowhere.
>Jim_Burlant: ADEEEIR 11D .EED +16 114
#note As Yogi Berra would say, "It's like déja vu all over again." I'm still blind to EIDE/EIDER. I spent a while here considering extending NOT into NOTE but rejected it in favor of opening up the line for an easy 7. EIDE/EIDER are still best here.
>Mitch_Brook: DO 1M .OD +20 174
>Jim_Burlant: ADEIIRT I8 .I +7 121
#note I finally get one right. This is best.
>Mitch_Brook: Z 6J Z. +31 205
>Jim_Burlant: ADEEIRT C2 RETI.D +18 139
#note No clue - just trying to open the northwest. My thought process was that, because the fishing wasn't working, maybe playing the longer game would work? <>
>Mitch_Brook: NU 10I NU +11 216
>Jim_Burlant: AELNNSU K10 NU +7 146
#note ANNUL 11I and H11 SUNNA top a sim, but it's bleak: best play wins 13% and this wins 10-1/2.
>Mitch_Brook: AEIINST 13C ISATINE +80 296
>Jim_Burlant: AELNSSW H12 S.AW +24 170
#note Gotta know it to play it. AWNLESS scores 77 at 12I. At least if I had to whiff, this was the time to do it: the bingo barely wins 2.75%.
>Mitch_Brook: GIM L11 MIG +16 312
>Jim_Burlant: ELLNPRS 12A PEL. +11 181
>Mitch_Brook: ITY A12 .ITY +27 339
>Jim_Burlant: EFLNORS 13L .OLF +16 197
#note Saw FARNESOL in my rack but whiffed on the board vision. The southeast looked blocked off and I didn't look hard enough to find the play. FARNESOL plays at 14G for 90.
>Mitch_Brook: AB O13 .AB +24 363
>Jim_Burlant: ?CENRRS N4 SCoRNER +64 261
#note Like I said earlier, on my HEED play, I had considered fishing an E off to turn NOT into NOTE. I kept thinking I was looking at NOTE when I put this down, and I didn't realize the mistake until after I clocked it. Thankfully for me, Mitch didn't either.
>Mitch_Brook: CHMR 3B M.RCH +12 375
>Jim_Burlant: AAER O8 AREA +22 283
#note Annotation ends here. Mitch Q-sticks himself (I was playing so incompetently this game I probably would have botched that), we move tiles to end the game, final score 406 - 339, Mitch's win. Amazing I can play this poorly and only lose by 68 points!
