#player2 Mack Mack
>Will: BEIMOOT 8G BOOM +16 16
#note Wow, not the preferred opener of Quackle here...it prefers BOOTIE, BIOME, BOITE, and BOOM one space to the left. I have no particularly strong conviction in BOOM.
>Mack: EEGIJLR 7I JEER +40 40
>Will: ?CEILST K4 TEL.StIC +95 111
#note Drawing CLS? helps mask errors.
>Mack: GIILORT L1 GRIOT +22 62
#note Didn't see 9G ORG, but this looks fine.
>Will: AEPTVVX 2J VA.VE +38 149
>Mack: AGHILLR 12K HILAR +31 93
>Will: ELPTUXY O11 P.EXY +51 200
#note Revisiting this game a few days after posting because of some really interesting feedback I've gotten in favor of O8 LUXER. I've been thinking a lot about that play and I like it more and more, cutting off not only VARVES but VARVED with all 4 D's out, opening no new lines at all, and leaving PTY, a nice combination to play along row 9 scoring really well under JO. I might never be the type to make plays like LUXER that consistently, because it still feels like just too much equity to give up for my tastes, but I would like to get to the point where I can see that play and plays like it much more often, at the very least. I didn't think of it at all in game.
>Mack: ?GIKLQS 10J Q. +31 124
>Will: ELNNTUZ N12 .NE +26 226
#note Interesting move here. I figured that scoring 26 with the Z leaving ELNN wouldn't work out as well for me as scoring 26 with two one-pointers retaining the Z, given that I don't have an S and the board is otherwise extremely bingo-unfriendly. But ANE makes a really easy scoring spot for Mack hooking EX, and LUTZ supposedly bingos 15 percent of the time for me next turn, which I guess makes sense given that ELNN is at least composed of low point tiles.
>Mack: ?GIKLOS O2 SKOLInG +98 222
>Will: LNORTUZ M12 .ORN +24 250
#note Another interesting choice. ORT outperforms LORN. First of all, LORN very slightly increases Mack's bingo percentage thanks to the open N in the triple lane, and those bingos are bad news when they happen. Secondly, it's also immediately his best scoring spot. Finally, ORT has some sneaky offensive value leaving LNUZ - if I draw the A I get ZA/BOA, but if I draw OA I get ZONULA for even more. That opens the board a lot, though, which I might not want. The first two factors are the more important ones - I don't need to open a triple here yet.
>Mack: AACEEET -AEE +0 222
#note Trading seems unnecessary here - 9G or N6 AE are probably worth it.
>Will: DELTUWZ 9H WE +22 272
#note Setting up ZIT 10F for myself and scoring the most points I can get on this turn.
>Mack: ACEGOST G8 .OG +14 236
#note In hindsight, I should've just played this at N6 because of plays down column F that block both S hooks, whereas without BOG there TELESTICHS is harder to block
>Will: ADILTUZ F9 LATU +18 290
#note I was all set to do ADZ, but LATU must be correct against Mack's range after BOG. As a bonus, it sets up ZAG.
>Mack: ACEHIST 15G SHITCA. +39 275
#note I think this play was a bit of an overreaction - Just N6 HA or HI are probably better. I'm not down that much, and blowing up the rack for only 10 more points seems unjustified here when row 14 is pretty easy for Will to block.
>Will: DDEIINZ E10 ZINE +45 335
#note Have to play this over ZIN for obvious blocking reasons.
>Mack: DEEFMNT 13B FEM. +18 293
>Will: BDDEIOU 14A BEDU +31 366
#note Ugh, missed DOBIE for 4 more, though it wouldn't change Mack's next move. I've also heard arguments in favor of just playing BOD 12A for way fewer points, avoiding creating -ED, but I still can't fully get behind that one, since any potential play down column A to the B scores well and could be annoying to block.
>Mack: ADDENTU C6 DENUDAT.. +64 357
>Will: ADINOTW 15A AW +36 402
#note Tough situation here. I would really love to block the upper left part of the board, but nothing that I can play through 8A really does so conclusively, even DANIO and TONDI, and if I play there, Mack could play AY or OY 15A himself and suddenly be ahead. There's also a chance that I will hit a bingo myself after AW/OW. I played AW over OW because of the three unseen As and to preserve TONDI.
>Mack: ENORSUY B10 OY +17 374
#note This seems as good as anything - basically forces Will to play through the N to block both lanes, and then he'll give me a couple letters to try to draw an 8 through in addition to the D in DENUDATED and the possibility of M4 DANSEUR.
>Will: AADINOT 8A TO.DI +24 426
#note Very happy to have played AW naw after drawing AA...I suppose at this point, DANIO is just as good as TONDI, since it doesn't really matter how heavy the bingo is. CP comes up with B5 TAO, which looks pretty scary, but there must not be many bingos that actually fit on the board afterwards.
>Mack: AEFNRSU M7 SAFE +25 399
#note This endgame is terrible, but I was very low on time
>Will: AAIINPR B2 PIANI +23 449
>Mack: NRU A1 NU +10 409
>Will: AR N9 AR +13 462
>Will: (R) +2 464
