>Joshua_Sokol: IIILLRR 7F LIRI +11 11
#note This is going to be a steep climb. Best play! :)
>Diana_Grosman: EFI 7M FIE +22 94
#note Wonderful play
>Joshua_Sokol: BEILNNR O1 BERLIN. +30 41
#note she probably knows AFEBRILE, otherwise I might have kept an extra N for no reason and played O1 (FE)BRILE. lol no
>Diana_Grosman: BILTU 9D BUILT +11 105
#note hm
>Joshua_Sokol: DDHNOQV E8 Q.OD +28 69
#note thanks very much for the U! Still holding on. I would not have been super happy about 9K DOH here. Usually even 9K NOH would be better, keeping two D's and scoring 2 less, just for the potential of setting up QI if I drew an I, but there are only 4 I's left already!
>Diana_Grosman: ALUV 2K VALU. +16 121
#note She isn't getting much value out of her U's. Lucky for me! Still, she's defending the board quite nicely
>Joshua_Sokol: DEHNNTV L1 H.VEN +30 99
#note not sure if this was my rack. If so I must have missed V(A)NNED. Doubt I would have missed that. Due to not being sure I won't provide any commentary for this turn
>Diana_Grosman: AX 6I AX +28 149
>Joshua_Sokol: DENRSTZ M7 ..Z +25 124
#note I totally missed K7 Z(A)NDER here. I like that play here. It's not a pure fish like FEZ, so it's OK if I don't hit my bingo. I almost played 12B ZEDS. I shouldn't have been so eager to play a bingo I guess. Was sort of getting tired of inching my way back into the game. This seemed like more than a 1/2 chance so I took it. I hit around 55% I would say. Regretted this because obviously this game things weren't working out quite as I hoped they would. ZEDS sims best but I doubt it's the right play here.
>Diana_Grosman: EO K4 OE +10 159
#note lol, come on, move it down a spot!!! Saw this in game and instead of getting tilted as I usually do, I was happy I gained 8 points by doing absolutely nothing
>Joshua_Sokol: DEJNRST 12B JETS +37 161
>Diana_Grosman: EO B12 .OE +20 179
>Joshua_Sokol: CDDNORT A13 DOC +23 184
#note at least I drew a vowel! Now I'm pretty sure she has at least an S but likely something much stronger. I can tell by the anti-tell sighs!

C12 (E)DDO was missed. That's definitely better than this, not by much but by enough. It's 2 fewer points, but the leave is better for bingos, and I can reopen the bottom of the board from the O later on if I get the opportunity. I was obsessed with blocking the JOES hook, which was obviously correct.
>Diana_Grosman: ?ACEHSS 5C CHASErS +76 255
#note Huge sigh before playing this! :D

Best option is very tough to see. SACHEmS to prevent me from opening the top left again from H1. Not many 5s end in M, certainly not ones that leave me with ideal floaters to play through.
>Joshua_Sokol: DEMNNRT C10 TR.M +24 208
#note After SACHEmS, I can fork the board from 4A, and that seems pretty dangerous as well, but it opens up scoring spots for Diana to use. I actually don't have CHASErS as much as Quackle does.

For me here, things are looking real grim. I'm likely better off sacrificing 6 points for the superior bingo leave of TREND with M(E)N in the same spot.

TREM was OK positionally though, since I don't need a bingo immediately. Same logic that goes against playing (FE)Z as I did.

She is not going to play to the C, H or R nearly as often as Quackle thinks either. I have to slowplay this.
>Diana_Grosman: ATW D4 W.AT +20 275
#note as I said, she's not taking any chances
>Joshua_Sokol: ?DENNNO K7 c.NNONED +66 274
#note I stared at my triplicate Ns for a while before realizing I had a bingo. Very lucky to have drawn the blank though!

She said something along the lines of "nice bingo, even with 3 N's!"

When people make comments like that, I always wonder what exactly they mean to communicate. Often I will hear an intermediate player say "wow, two Ws!" or something if I play, say, WIDOWER.

Does that convey or bear any specific connotation, or are people just noting what happened without any bitterness, without any congratulation?

I always feel like it's supposed to come off as a congratulatory comment but is really meant as a snide remark. I never really know how to react. Yes, I had three N's and managed to find my way back into the game. Is that luck, skill, a mixture of both? That's up to you to decide, I guess.
>Diana_Grosman: AKY 12I YA.K +22 297
>Joshua_Sokol: MORTUWY H1 TUMO. +21 295
#note This position doesn't look great, but actually I felt like I was in decent shape. The pool was pretty awful and she probably had very little to work with. I was keeping relatively flexible scoring tiles, while taking out the biggest scoring spot on the board. Quackle finds a counterintuitive setup play that not many people would see, 13I OW(E) setting up YUM for 34. I can't really hope to score more than 52 within two turns, especially not keeping RT and two random tiles after it all. This was the biggest mistake I made in this game.
>Diana_Grosman: AGIOU 1D AGOU.I +8 305
#note As it stood, I knew she had crap, but didn't know I was giving her somewhere to dump it. Definitely retribution for missing OW(E) last turn. But hey, she only scored 8!
>Joshua_Sokol: EIPRSWY 2D RIP +26 321
#note This was a relatively simple pre-endgame, but I somehow completely screwed it up. I had to play at 2D and score, and so I played the 3 that scored the most. I was happy with my leave once again, since it kept flexible scoring tiles for the endgame. But I somehow missed YIP as a 3 instead of RIP, for 6 more???

I do remember not seeing RIP for a long time after retracking and looking at the possible bingos she could have using the D in CANNONED. She has 6 possible bingos there. Can you find them?
>Diana_Grosman: AAGIOPT C3 PA.A +23 328
#note I was looking at the pool, and the thing that worried me the most was if she played PATIO at B6, leaving me to have to block FAG A7 and score enough to win. But then I saw it formed OT* and then it was back to feeling confident that I would win. J10 AG(A)PAI wins 3/8 times, and would have won her the game!
>Joshua_Sokol: EEIRSWY 13J W.IR +25 346
