>Diana_Grosman: BEGR G8 BERG +22 22
>Joshua_Sokol: DHINOTZ F7 DOH +25 51
#note DOZIN(G) came to mind here, but then that puts the Z right atop a double word score. Easy parallel plays and even plays coming down through or from the Z could hurt bigtime. No need to take that risk. Then (G)INZO came to mind, but I wasn't 100% sure that it didn't take an S. I had forgotten. So I decided to just play DOH and keep the Z in my arsenal. That play didn't seem too shabby anyway.
>Diana_Grosman: IIIII -IIIII +0 22
>Joshua_Sokol: CIIINTZ 11E ZI. +26 77
#note I didn't need to be so paranoid here. I once again didn't want to open up scoring spots with E4 ZITI, but at the expense of my leave, that might have been a better play than this. I think CITIN(G) is a better play than this, but ZITI is fine.
>Diana_Grosman: AERU 12B UREA +19 41
#note Maybe I was on to something, as A(Z)URE scores 11 more points. Is getting rid of 2/3 of my I's that important?
>Joshua_Sokol: CIIINRT C9 CIR.I +20 97
#note very happy with this play, opening nothing and keeping relatively well.
>Diana_Grosman: IOP 13E POI +20 61
>Joshua_Sokol: IINPQST 10B Q. +31 128
>Diana_Grosman: EJLO E4 JOLE +25 86
>Joshua_Sokol: IINPSST 14D PSI +26 154
#note regretted not playing 14E SIT here. After SIT Diana needs an S to play down on that triple, but after PSI she can have an L or a K. She is probably more likely than average to have an S though, and less likely than average to have a K (otherwise JOKE instead of JOLE) and less likely than average to have an L (otherwise JELLO instead of JOLE). So perhaps PSI was fine.
>Diana_Grosman: AANT 15A ANTA +20 106
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EFINST I2 FINiTES +73 227
>Diana_Grosman: BCO H1 COB +30 136
>Joshua_Sokol: ALOOWWY F2 WOO +23 250
#note My first instinct was to play something at 15F, but all I could play was LOW, LAW, LAY or LOO. None of those plays seemed worth it. I felt better keeping my L for next turn and hoping for a better use of that spot. WOO allowed me to score decently, keep scoring tiles on my rack, partially block the J for easy letter dumps that score, and blocking the C, which actually seemed like the biggest threat to my lead. YAWL was on my rack as well, and that played at D5 if she took the triple spot.
>Diana_Grosman: AAAA -AAAA +0 136
>Joshua_Sokol: AEGLNWY 4C EN..Y +30 280
#note I saw the word LAWNY, but figured I must have been making it up, since LAWNIES* and LAWNIER* were not words. But alas! LAWNY is indeed valid! I jumped on this play too quickly. J7 YEW is better. GLAW is really not a good leave. But obviously, 15F LAWNY is the play!
>Diana_Grosman: AELV 15F LAVE +24 160
>Joshua_Sokol: AGLMNUW I11 GLUM. +9 289
#note At this stage, I decisively closed the board. She would now have to have a bingo with the L in second position. This play was much better than I though it was, because I actually blocked more than I anticipated. Remember how I said YEW J7 was better than EN(JO)Y? I totally spaced out on that play, and definitely would not have played FINITES had I seen N(O)TIFIES or T(O)NIFIES. Why? (OBES)E!!! OBES takes an E. That's a very tough hook to see naturally, like VINY-L. I wonder if Diana had seen it. If I had seen C1 UNM(E)W I might have done that, also.
>Diana_Grosman: IK - +0 160
#note Diana challenges GLUME
>Joshua_Sokol: ALNNTVW C3 V.NAL +18 307
#note as odd as this looks, it's my best play. Nothing else really compares, except J5 NAW, which creates hooks I don't want to have to deal with for the rest of the game. Although perhaps I can hook (HEW) with my N or something...
>Diana_Grosman: IK J10 KI +19 179
>Joshua_Sokol: AENOTTW K9 WAT +26 333
#note Lucky to be able to block, since I had no vowels on my leave. Still blind to (OBES)E -- NOTATE plays at J3 as a brilliant 6-way overlap for 33. I like that play for style, and since Diana probably has a better-than-average rack, I might prefer to reduce her chances of a bingo. TWAE in the same spot as WAT also makes sense here.
>Diana_Grosman: ?NORSSU L5 UNcROSS +74 253
#note This is Diana's only playable bingo, and a nice find at that. Definitely regretting WAT as my crushing lead is a bit less impressive now.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEGINOT L5 .......ING +20 353
#note I played this really fast. Definitely not the right play, but I liked the style points. 8K T(R)IGO sims best, but I think J2 TOE is my play.
>Diana_Grosman: AETT 8K T.EAT +22 275
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEEIOT J2 TOE +20 373
#note no need to block here, as I'm outrunning every possibility and there is no real threat of a bingo given what's left.
>Diana_Grosman: MU K5 MU +18 293
#note From my perspective the remaining letters were MURDERED!
>Joshua_Sokol: AADEFIY B6 FAY +32 405
#note I need to block her out. I didn't see it. M1 FAYED for sure
>Diana_Grosman: DDEERR N5 DRE.DER +13 306
