#player2 Joshua_Sokol Joshua Sokol
>Alex_Gianikas: ADIPR 8D PARDI +22 22
#note I might not have the right leaves in this game. Only one I forgot to record my leaves on until the end of the tournament.
>Joshua_Sokol: BGIMPTU F4 UPGI.T +13 13
#note With no option standing out I figured I would go for a very bizarre play in an attempt to outplay Alex and induce mistakes. I already know PARDI only takes an E, and I wanted to see if I could bait him to hook and S on either PARDI or UPGIRT. I'm also keeping a very odd leave to score with next turn. BITM(A)P was my other choice but GU just seemed so awful. G(A)MBIT is a tad better, and seeing that I might have played it. This sims around 7 points behind GAMBIT.
>Alex_Gianikas: IIIIII -IIIIII +0 22
#note But I induced an exchange! That was part of the hope. UPGIRT really did cut off his options.
>Joshua_Sokol: ABHHIMY 4C HAB. +18 31
#note I did not know HY(P)HA, which I would have played very quickly. That's a 5 that has not come up yet. I didn't like HY(P) as it gave back easy scoring options. I finally unhappily settled for this, knowing something was brewing. I think HY(P) is fine looking back, but I also almost played 7F (I)AMB. That would have been best.
>Alex_Gianikas: ?ADEIOT H8 .DEATIOn +77 99
>Joshua_Sokol: FHILMNY 11D FLYM.N +28 59
#note HABU did also set HY(P) up for 41, which I conveniently missed. I was really having a hard time seeing plays this game.
>Alex_Gianikas: ABO 3C OBA +28 127
>Joshua_Sokol: AHIIJSU D11 .UJI +28 87
>Alex_Gianikas: GIO 13B GO.I +24 151
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AHILOS 5D HA.LOIdS +116 203
#note ridiculous draw. Also HAPLOSIS.
>Alex_Gianikas: EEKS 15A EKES +43 194
>Joshua_Sokol: AINNORT 2C NO +17 220
#note definitely another low point in my tournament, as I hit the clock realizing what I had done. OBAH* is about as common a phony as they come and I should be way beyond seeing it and thinking it's a word at first. Alex did not notice this either.
>Alex_Gianikas: EEF I13 FEE +22 216
>Joshua_Sokol: AINNRTX I4 N.X +10 230
#note It was this or H3 AX(O)N. I'll try again with this leave and leave things closed.
>Alex_Gianikas: ELW 9C WEL. +17 233
>Joshua_Sokol: AEINRTZ B10 ZIN. +34 264
>Alex_Gianikas: ER 7I ER +15 248
>Joshua_Sokol: ACERTUU K7 ACUTE +17 281
#note last play sort of scared me. Back to paranoid defense, hoping he has 1-pointers and cannot score from the C.
>Alex_Gianikas: EORW 8K .OWER +33 281
>Joshua_Sokol: DEMOQRU N6 QU.ER +36 317
>Alex_Gianikas: CEELT 4K ELECT +18 299
>Joshua_Sokol: ADMNOSV 3K MAD +25 342
#note I didn't like this, since it kept an awkward leave for the pool. I should have done something different. Quackle likes L11 MONAD, which I considered, and a few other plays that are dumb at M1.
>Alex_Gianikas: AGV 7C VAG. +21 320
>Joshua_Sokol: INNOSVY M3 ..V +7 349
#note wasn't 100% on ACUTES or ACUTER here. This looked like it won, and it does, but F13 SYN is like 35 points better or something crazy.
>Alex_Gianikas: DIORSTT O1 TRO. +12 332
>Joshua_Sokol: INNORSY L10 IRONY +20 369
#note -2 to 12K SONNY but again unsure of ACUTES
>Alex_Gianikas: ADIST 11K ..AS +19 351
#note -3
>Joshua_Sokol: NS 14C S.N +8 377
#note -5 12K S(O)N with ACUTES again.
>Joshua_Sokol: (DIT) +8 385
