#note (reedited on 6/28/18)
Every time I get to play Gibson I feel like it's a special treat. This time, my drought came to an end as his tiles didn't give him a chance.
>Daddy: ELUY 7F YULE +19 19
>Sid_Murali: AEINSTT 9E INSTATE +72 78
>Daddy: AEKOW 8K AWOKE +50 69
>Sid_Murali: ADDNOPT 9M PAD +25 103
#note This is a spot in which I learned that Gibson thrives on his opponents being too scared to close the boad with a tempo lead and trying to unnecessarily pry the board open for him to pounce. I played this being in confident in my ability to protect a lead.
>Daddy: COR 7M COR +29 98
>Sid_Murali: BDNOPTV 10C BOND +25 128
>Daddy: ITV K5 VIT.. +16 114
>Sid_Murali: AENPSTV 6H PAV.N +26 154
#note Ridiculous draw of AENS! This has a static valuation of 40 compared to BOND's 12. On this board it's way different, but that's the general idea...
I now have the flexibility on this board to hold on to my lead.
>Daddy: AFI O4 FAI... +14 128
>Sid_Murali: AEMORST 11B ROMS +26 180
#note Spent forever here, but this might still be bad. Not sure what's best, but at the end I decided not to fish.
>Daddy: COZ N3 COZ +30 158
>Sid_Murali: ??ABELT 12A BETA +35 215
#note With a draw of BL??, I almost passed out. I actually didn't see any of the bingos here, so I ended up playing this.
>Daddy: FRY B11 ..FRY +22 180
#note 7 consos here for him.
>Sid_Murali: ??ELMOU A14 OM +35 250
#note BOOM has to be better to avoid disaster 100 point bingoes from the F!
>Daddy: IT 3L TI. +10 190
>Sid_Murali: ??ELTUX 2K LUX +21 271
#note I agree with my old analysis that the incredibly weird (and well simming) 13B (F)a is fine, though I could never pull the trigger on that during the game. It deals with the worst-case threats in the ideal way, given that any play I make will win over 98 times out of 100.
LUX is less reckless than it looks (and better than the 65 point bingoes available), but it still stinks. I played it as I was already tremendously low on time.
All this time I missed 13A o(F)T 29, which is the same idea as Fa but better! Block the 100 point F bingo. Let him get a weak row 2 bingo, and I'll probably have a high scoring comeback or bingo.
If I choose to block row 2 now, the only play to make is m2 XI for 9, which is disastrous because he could have JE(T)E for 50, which is actually fairly likely, and then even a 60 point OMAS bingo will make him a favorite.
o(F)T! Wow, how cool.
>Daddy: AJR 1J RAJ +38 228
>Sid_Murali: ??EEIRT L1 ...E +22 293
#note mysteries is the star play here
>Daddy: AELU M7 ...ULAE +22 250
>Sid_Murali: ??DEIRT 12F DIcEnTR. +64 357
#note I picked something that made it impossible to bingo hooking omas and allowed the least flexibility for David to open the board.
>Daddy: GNW G11 W.NG +9 259
