#player1 Joshua_Sokol Joshua Sokol
#player2 Lauren_Werner Lauren Werner
>Joshua_Sokol: HNNOOOU H7 NOUN +8 8
#note Weird way to start the tournament. Super close between exchanging keeping N or NO and playing through with NOUN. This placement seemed slightly better than the recommended one.
>Lauren_Werner: BDEGL 9G B.GLED +15 15
>Joshua_Sokol: HOOORSW 8K WOOSH +45 53
>Lauren_Werner: IQ N6 QI. +32 47
>Joshua_Sokol: JMORRSV -JRV +0 53
#note K6 VO(WE)R is super interesting and thought-provoking, but it's probably best to stick with the board as is. It's very close between keeping RS and MORS. I like my choice but it sims .2 behind keeping RS MO(WE)RS just isn't worth it and VOWERS is too dangerous
>Lauren_Werner: BDEN 10K BEND +23 70
>Joshua_Sokol: KMORRSZ 11I KOS +32 85
#note looks like VO(WE)R might have worked!!

7F ZO(N)K is a bit aggressive at this stage. I liked settling the bingo S hook and the scoring S hook and keeping the Z for ammunition. Probably ZONK against a more threatening player
>Lauren_Werner: IPY 12H YIP +22 92
>Joshua_Sokol: EEIMRRZ 10D MIZE. +40 125
#note Also considered 13G MERE but even if that leads to IZAR E14 I don't need to take that volatile route against Lauren. This is fine
>Lauren_Werner: AFLOT 11B FLOTA +35 127
>Joshua_Sokol: ACEEIRR 13I RACIER +31 156
>Lauren_Werner: AHTW 12L THAW +39 166
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EILPTX B11 .IXT +28 184
#note close to EXPL(ODE) in equity, but much better strategically. No need to give her big overlap plays. This is relatively safe, she can only hit a huge play with an M, and I hit 45 with an E or A draw, as well as bingos.
>Lauren_Werner: ADIV 7E VIA.D +12 178
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EJLNPT F6 J.N +26 210
>Lauren_Werner: ORT 12A R.OT +22 200
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EELNPT 13A E.PEL +46 256
#note scored as 44
>Lauren_Werner: IN A12 ..IN +14 214
>Joshua_Sokol: ?DEGNTU 5F DUETiNG +78 334
#note both this and TRUDGEN throw the E out there, but that's the best I can do
>Lauren_Werner: AIR 4H RIA +10 224
>Joshua_Sokol: AACEFUY 3G CAF +28 362
#note that blank is out, blocking this is normally a good idea, but there is a risk of a one-tile play at H2 like T(ARE) ore R(ARE) setting up an unblockable hook. I might not play CAF against just anyone for that reason. 14M YEA was the other play under the radar, but I can do that next turn hopefully
>Lauren_Werner: AAEEOTV D10 ....T +7 231
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEEUUY 14M YEA +27 389
#note or just exchanging is an option. But I'm pretty sure she's holding the remainder of the good tiles. She seems strong on her short words but there is a chance she will try to hook an S on HEY.
>Lauren_Werner: ?AEMSS 15D SEAMS +33 264
#note she missed something here, can't remember what though.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEIOOUU 15N AI +16 405
#note -15

AE in the same spot is much better for me, since (Q)I is a thing for one. I think I realized this a bit too late.
>Lauren_Werner: ?EEGLRR 14F LEE +15 279
#note L3 ER(G) is her play here. This is 5 off, but she makes it 27
>Joshua_Sokol: EOOUUV L3 VU. +14 419
>Lauren_Werner: ?GRR 4L .RGe +4 283
#note she runs out of time. G13 R(EM) or 5 other options bank 17 points.
>Joshua_Sokol: EOOU K13 .OO +5 424
>Lauren_Werner: R L7 R... +5 288
>Lauren_Werner: (EU) +4 292
#note -10 for Lauren on time, -2 for me on miscounting EXPEL, final 422-282
