#player1 Avery Avery
#player2 Carl Carl
>Avery: BEEFMPV H6 VEEP +18 18
>Carl: EENOTWY 6F WO.E +18 18
#note I couldn't decide between any of the top plays. There's WOVE, WOVEN, YEOW 7G, YOW G8, YOWE, G8, and TWO G7. You can rule out ENVOY because the leave is better after WOVEN. Quackle prefers YOWE G8. (-3)
>Avery: ABDFGMR I5 D.FRAG +32 50
>Carl: EELLNTY J4 LENT +28 46
#note Here, the other choices are YENTE J4 and WELLY F6. This time, my play narrowly wins the sim.
>Avery: BDGIMST K3 GIBS +40 90
>Carl: AEILRTY F6 .ATERILY +66 112
>Avery: BDEHMOT E7 DEMOB +39 129
>Carl: ?ADEJRU 13C JUD. +30 142
#note Another taxing rack. I spent a long time looking for big J plays at D8, but eventually decided that RAMJET isn't worth it, and nothing else is.
>Avery: CFHNPTT -FNPTT +0 129
#note Avery's only mistake-- FETTER, TUFT, or LIFT sim ahead of exchanging.
>Carl: ?AAEEOR -AEO +0 142
#note Also a mistake. AERO D4 is a little better despite giving back easy points on column E. (-5)
>Avery: CEHIIOS D7 OH +23 152
>Carl: ?AEORRX 3K .OX +22 164
#note Again, I spend a lot of time that I might need later before begrudgingly settling on GOX. There really isn't anything better.
>Avery: CEIINOS M2 E.CISION +69 221
#note Avery's intuition told him not to play EOSINIC C1 because my last plays, and the time I spent making them, telegraphed the blank.
>Carl: ?ACEERR N9 ACERbER +80 244
#note A close call between this and RECRAtE N8 for two points more, but opening up a big parallel spot. As it turned out, it made all the difference.
>Avery: AEELSUZ 15K AZU.E +72 293
#note If I played RECRATE, Avery would play ZEALS O4, and I'd bingo with DILUVIA at J9. Instead it doesn't quite fit.
>Carl: ADIILUV K9 DILUVI. +22 266
>Avery: EILNSTU C1 LUTEINS +72 365
>Carl: ?AHOTWY 1A WA.Y +42 308
#note This wins the sim, but I spent a long time looking for better plays.
>Avery: AAIOOQR 12I AQ.A +26 391
>Carl: ?GHOPRT D12 P.GH +28 336
#note I was in time trouble and slapped this down immediately. Quackle prefers any of several plays, such as O5 THORP, O6 GOTH, or especially L7 PHOT. I was definitely too eager to unload the G given the pool, but any play on column O will give Avery the chance to seal the game with, say, WINK A1, and I'll never be able to open the board again. This rules out GOTH and THORP, but PHOT might be correct.
>Avery: IOORSTT L8 TO +11 402
#note It's either this or ORTHO 15A. One play scores well and will outrun most of my bingos. The other goes for a bingo of his own, increasing the average cumulative spread without sacrificing much win percentage (< 1%). Great play!
>Carl: ?FINORT O3 FORINTs +85 421
#note That's the sim-winner and the only bingo. I was hesitant to play it since Avery will usually win in the endgame, but I didn't have any better ideas. If I don't play there, Avery will; he would never have played TO without the case S.
>Avery: EINORST 4A ON.RIEST +70 472
>Avery: (AAKMN) +22 494
