>Joshua_Sokol: ?EJMNRU H4 JURyMEN +96 96
#note This game was very similar to our game in Vancouver. I managed to psych myself out much more this time, though! We were joking about our last game in which I opened with XANTHIN. I told him it wouldn't be that bad. Turns out it was only one fewer point!!!
>Carl_Johnson: AFFINTY G9 TIFFANY +73 73
#note By Carl's demeanor I could tell that he was confident that this was a word. I just didn't like it. I felt like I could afford to challenge, as the U in JURYMEN was going to stay open a very large amount of the time. But I lost the game on this unsuccessful challenge. Nice word!
>Joshua_Sokol: EELLNOV - +0 96
#note Passing is still granting me around a 64% chance of winning. I was confident that I would still win the game if TIFFANY ended up being a word.
>Carl_Johnson: UYZ 5E YUZ. +32 105
#note Oh no!!!! He blocked the U. I guess it was more likely than I estimated, since J plays happen sometimes as well.
>Joshua_Sokol: EELLNOV F10 VOE +38 134
#note But I still have NONLEVEL!!!! I had no idea that was a word, and I didn't even consider it. I also have NOVELL(Y) for 42. This was not a good play in retrospect, but I was just completely beside myself at what had just occurred! Don't make mistakes!
>Carl_Johnson: AEGHKMS H13 HAE +40 145
>Joshua_Sokol: DEILLMN 6A MILDEN +22 156
#note Definitely I12 LIMN for 25. Didn't even see the awkward 4. I guess LIMN qualifies as a TUPIK for me, if I can borrow Will Anderson's commentary for a second. This play was the epitome of how psyched out I was this game. I convinced myself that this was the right play, better than I9 DELL, better than 6C IDEM, better than L(U)M for 11,, better than 4A DENIM for 27. Those plays are all superior
>Carl_Johnson: EHIN A4 HE.IN +42 187
#note feeling the wrath of bad decisions.
>Joshua_Sokol: ADEELRU 4A .AULED +30 186
#note LAURELED is a word. I think I knew that. This game is just handing me great opportunities every single turn, and I can't seem to grab on.
>Carl_Johnson: BIR 12C BRI.. +20 207
>Joshua_Sokol: ACEERTV I9 CAVE +27 213
>Carl_Johnson: AGR C12 .RAG +14 221
>Joshua_Sokol: EEKOORT 4H .OKER +32 245
>Carl_Johnson: ACPS M1 PACS +33 254
>Joshua_Sokol: DELORTT 1K DE.OT +27 272
#note Correctly talked myself out of TRO(P)ED*, unfortunately missed a valid anagram, REDTO(P). That's better than this, and 11I (V)OLT is worth considering as well
>Carl_Johnson: ABERSSU 2E SURBASE +66 320
#note he would have had SUBARE(A)S had I not gone there though. I lost this game long ago.
>Joshua_Sokol: GIILRTW 11I .IGIL +18 290
>Carl_Johnson: AGOW M9 AG.OW +20 340
>Joshua_Sokol: IOPQRTW 15A WI. +21 311
#note C3 Q(U)I(L)T was obvious, but this seemed like it might work out better against a top player. Carl thinks I'm going for a bingo so he might try to block, further allowing me to cash on my 46-point setup of Q(A)T. I average almost 46 points next turn, so it seems the setup is quite safe. I might have shot myself in the foot here, but I was trying to arrange the game in such a way that I could win with or without a bingo.
>Carl_Johnson: AEX 2M .XE +40 380
>Joshua_Sokol: LNOPQRT 14B Q.T +46 357
>Carl_Johnson: DOST J6 DOTS +15 395
>Joshua_Sokol: ILNNOPR O1 ..RPINOL +39 396
#note can I win with a blank draw? No but I can actually win with an A draw! Fishing off my N for TERPINOLs or TERPINEOL will not work against Carl unfortunately, so this is my only hope
>Carl_Johnson: ?AEIOTT 1D TInEA +32 427
