#player2 Nigel Nigel
>JD: DEIMNQU 8D QUINE +48 48
#note in spite of my suboptimal play, I'd done just enough to be matched up with the best of the best.
>Nigel: ADIIO 7F AIDOI +16 16
>JD: ?DDIMNS C4 MIDDeNS +77 125
>Nigel: CLMU D1 CULM +34 50
>JD: ACEIRUV 1D .URVE +30 155
#note terrible move. a pity to waste such a good start. AQUIVER is great.
>Nigel: AEY I1 YEA +21 71
>JD: ACDILOT 4I DICOT +24 179
#note I thought of the word DACOIT, but somehow not where to play it. Sucktitude abounds.
>Nigel: EEGINRT 6H INTEGER +72 143
#note nigel laid down INTEGER initially at 6I, making NI, then took an agonizing 30 seconds to shift the play over. that man's brain works in strange ways.
>JD: AEELLRT 8J TALLER +24 203
#note unfortunately, nigel's shift meant that I no longer had a playable bingo. I agonized over fishing versus playing long, but Q thinks I made the right choice. The board is not particularly great for bingoing after LEI.
>Nigel: EENPSX 2I .XPENSE +64 207
>JD: EEGIORU 1L ROUE +28 231
>Nigel: ?AOOSTT O8 .ATTOOnS +74 281
>JD: AEGIIVZ B10 AVIZE +42 273
#note forking the board.
>Nigel: ABEGIOR 14H ABORIGE. +74 355
>JD: ABGIJKN 15D KANJI +69 342
#note so much potential. I felt that even if I made a fishier play like JAB/AB, nigel was almost certain to cover column A, making my potential -KING leave useless.
>Nigel: AHNW A7 HWAN +33 388
>JD: BEFGTWY 12A W.FTY +36 378
#note my chances are obviously poor. I figured I'd take the points and hope to draw an out. against a lesser open perhaps fishing BY to draw GIFTWARE would be the best try. BY also makes it harder for Nigel to score on column C overlapping the Z, and doesn't give back cheap FY/F--- plays. one way or the other, my chances of winning appear nonexistent.
>Nigel: AFHLOPR 11E FLOP +34 422
>JD: BEGOS 5B B.SE +21 399
#note BOUGE 10 better.
>Nigel: AHR 13L HAR. +27 449
#note I had a very easy set of letters to play through this game and made some big errors - a disappointment. perhaps the pre-endgame could've contained some chances to steal a win had I found AQUIVER and DACOIT. Ample motivation to go hit the books and play more!
