>Steve_Grob: UX 8G XU +18 18
>Joshua_Sokol: ?ACCEOT G6 CO. +13 13
#note Blocking the only bingo I saw, COACTEd. tOCCATE I saw but was unsure of, COENACT I missed and ACCOUTRE/ACCOUTER were there as well. Not a great start, but at least this was a good play, make it impossible to score without an A.
>Steve_Grob: IIIII -IIIII +0 18
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AACEPT 9C PlACATE +81 94
>Steve_Grob: IQ 10B QI +35 53
>Joshua_Sokol: EEGNORY 10G EERY +34 128
#note In quite good shape with this board-destroying play
>Steve_Grob: ADEKU B10 .UAKED +40 93
>Joshua_Sokol: GNNOOOR A14 NO +17 145
#note Paranoia sort of set in here, but I'm not in great shape any longer, so I should just go for points+leave and forget what I have been trying to do to the board. Too many openins at this point. Maybe play 13B (K)ROON instead, or 11I GOON, but I'm fine with this I guess
>Steve_Grob: FIW 12A W.IF +28 121
>Joshua_Sokol: GNOORTT E5 TONG. +12 157
#note 11I GOT for sure, I think I must have missed ERG?
>Steve_Grob: EGISU D3 GUISE +18 139
>Joshua_Sokol: ADNORTV C2 VAN +20 177
#note here's where being unsure of PLACATER hurt the most. J5 VOTAR(Y) is really good here. I should have pulled the trigger.
>Steve_Grob: ALP F9 .LAP +20 159
>Joshua_Sokol: DJOORTY J7 TOD. +20 197
#note out of ideas here, so I decided to open the board up. If he plays down column K I can hit him back with the J.

I counted this as 17 somehow, possibly counting the Y as one point.
>Steve_Grob: DEILORS 13F SOLIDER +69 228
#note wasn't blocking him...
>Joshua_Sokol: IIJORRY K11 JO.Y +28 225
#note need some magic at this point. Ugh.
>Steve_Grob: AFG L12 F.AG +35 263
>Joshua_Sokol: DEIIRRS 15L .RID +18 243
#note what a draw!!!
>Steve_Grob: EEEEEE -EEEEEE +0 263
>Joshua_Sokol: EIRSTTV -VT +0 243
#note I was wondering when I would miss VLEI. Finally happened. I would be quite happy with that play. This was not a good play, playing off the T is significantly better as it hits a bingo just as often as the exchange.
>Steve_Grob: AHILNRT 14N HI +23 286
>Joshua_Sokol: EIIRSTU 7J .UI +3 246
#note best. karma. ever.
>Steve_Grob: BIN H12 B.IN +27 313
>Joshua_Sokol: BEIMRST M1 TIMBERS +79 325
>Steve_Grob: AEEHMNT I1 METHANE +70 383
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AELOOV 6L A.VO +17 342
#note This is one of many superb pre-endgame positions I ran into this tournament. I wasn't able to think too much unfortunately, since I was very low on time. I saw that I could both hit a bingo or even a 3x3 such as E(M)ULA(T)OR with this play, so I went ahead with it. I didn't want to part with the A but I didn't see any good way of distracting Steve other than this opening here. But actually, with a Z I can hit SLEAZO(ID) at O8, which is also good enough to win, so I don't need to distract Steve from the M and the T necessarily. I can just play OV somewhere else than at 7B for OV(EN), which is just suicide. 11D OV(A) looks correct in terms of winning potential. Although Quackle suggests 4L O(B)OL, which has interesting potential for both a 3x3 such as E(M)ANA(T)ES or even with bingos such as gRAVA(M)EN or VERSE(M)AN. That might be better in the long run. I think 11D OV(A) would have won me this game.
>Steve_Grob: AELNRST O2 ETAL.NS +24 407
#note very smart play, blocking the ID down low, the O I just opened, and the 3x3, but Steve eschewed the possibility of playing yet another 9 against me! 2G TR(E)ENA(I)LS fits for 72!
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EELOWZ 2F ZOW.E +39 381
#note Quick, he can't go out if I block (E)RR!! What do I do??? Ah my time!!! Let's just play this and hope it gets challenged!
>Steve_Grob: RR - +0 407
#note no way!!! Now I have to score the most possible points in two turns with seconds left on my clock and a blank slip to circle the blank on! Pressure!!!!
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EL 1G La. +26 407
#note does this win???
>Steve_Grob: RR 2M .R. +6 413
>Joshua_Sokol: E N2 .E +7 414
#note It doesn't! It ties. I have myself at 413 after recounting the last few plays.

I stole this game from Steve, so I said that I did not want to recount. He concurred. I actually won by 3 points.
>Joshua_Sokol: (R) +2 416
#note I was very happy with this tie, but I guess I really should have recounted!
