#player1 Emanuel Emanuel
#player2 Joshua_Sokol Joshua Sokol
>Emanuel: II -II +0 0
>Joshua_Sokol: AILNNTV H4 VINAL +24 24
#note This is 1-point challenge. I fail at one-point challenge. And Quackle doesn't have it, so I'll announce the final score at the end of the game. This was challenged.
>Emanuel: AERRSST 5D TARS.ERS +82 82
>Joshua_Sokol: EENNSTT G7 TENNETS +65 89
>Joshua_Sokol: EENNSTT -- -65 24
#note Waiting for him to play I figured it would be pretty unlikely that he wouldn't give me a new I or E to play through with SENTIENT and ENTENTES even if he blocked my spot. So I didn't really look hard enough through the A to see SETENANT. When he did end up blocking SENTIENT and not giving me a new spot, results-orientation kicked in and I failed to see SETENANT. And so I convinced myself that I was not making TENNETS* up, even though BENNETS, SENNETS, RENNETS and JENNETS were also good.
>Emanuel: EGGIMO I7 MOGGIE +24 106
#note huge break
>Joshua_Sokol: EENNSTT 11E SENT.ENT +82 106
#note I also saw an overturned U on his rack earlier, so knowing he had the U, I felt like the game was about even, since even if he drew one of the 2 H's, a play at H11 was unlikely.
>Emanuel: HMRU H11 .HRUM +51 157
#note I would call this bad fortune if I hadn't completely misplayed my last turn.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EEGNQV F10 V.G +15 121
#note Wasn't sure enough of VENGER for 1-pt challenge, and didn't like any other options. I suppose I could have kept it close with 4A QuEEN. I supposed also that (R)EVENG(E), which I believe I saw, is a good play since it could set up a huge Q play at 8A sometimes. I played this in the end to take away a gratuitous scoring spot, keep the possibility of a 50-point play next turn that is basically guaranteed, and also hope to draw into a bingo such as QUEENIER, QUEENDOM, and probably a lot more.
>Emanuel: CEHZ 4B CHEZ +51 208
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CEENOQ 14D COtQ.EEN +70 191
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CEENOQ -- -70 121
#note Hesitated here between playing QuO(T)E for 46, fishing off my O to go for E(LO)QUENCE or E(LO)QUENCY, and playing this. I thought this was a valid Collins-only spelling of COTQUEAN, and I'm still not sure why.
>Emanuel: ANPRY L8 PAN.RY +28 236
#note Emanuel stops for a moment and said "wow, you almost had ELOQUENCE!". I respond with "I almost fished for ELOQUENCE!"
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CEENOQ 14G Q.EEN +16 137
>Emanuel: ADFO 13C FADO +24 260

>Emanuel: AFIKLNU L1 N. +3 427

>Joshua_Sokol: AIJLOST -- -46 334
#note did someone play this recently? I feel like it came up in Collins and it was challenged off
>Emanuel: AAEIKLU 15K ALIKE +32 459
#note AKELA
>Joshua_Sokol: AIJLOST N9 AJI +28 362
#note Oh, I remember now, I challenged ALO* off in Cornwall earlier this year against Jim Potter in Collins. Makes perfect sense why I would think it's a word now after I challenged it off in one of the few Collins games I have ever played.
>Emanuel: AFU 1I FAU. +10 469
>Emanuel: AFU -- -10 459
#note FRAU and AUF, learn your German Emanuel! He played this upside-down so thought he was making AD
>Joshua_Sokol: LOST 14A LOST +19 381
>Joshua_Sokol: (AFU) +12 393
#note final 459-395
