>Chris_Guilbert: EHNTUVY 8G THY +18 18
#note Actual rack.
>Jim_Burlant: CENOOST 9F COO +14 14
#note A stumper. CO(T) to set up my S? Or COO which leaves a beautiful ENST but doesn't leave the wide-open S hook on row 5? Or OY? Ultimately I felt COT would be back-hooked into (COT)E, thus foiling my setup. A sim reveals that COO was better than COT, but the best play per the duck is to simply fish an O with YO I8. This wins roughly 0.6% less often and sims 1.2 points down on YO. 51.4% to win.
>Chris_Guilbert: EELNUVY 10H EVENLY +20 38
>Jim_Burlant: BENSTTX 11D TEXTS +31 45
#note It's either NEXTS (I was 50/50 about whether NEXT took the S and took no chances) or TEXTS. Since I've got to burn the S anyway, I didn't see much advantage to sweating out whether BN was really that much weaker than BT as a leave. Q says NEXTS is marginally stronger.
>Chris_Guilbert: GGISTU K5 GUSTI.G +36 74
#note Nice play!
>Jim_Burlant: ABINOSW 10E WO +26 71
#note A hair too much rack grooming? I debated between this and TWAIN 8K. I kept misevaluating TWAIN as 33 instead of 36 points, figuring that with only 1H and one W unseen, 8K wasn't a big threat, and with ABINS, the G on row 5 was a tempting target. The sim says this is a 5-point dog to TWAIN and wins 1.9% less often. 44.9% to win.
>Chris_Guilbert: ADIQ 12A QADI +52 126
>Jim_Burlant: ?ABINOS 13B BONAcIS +81 152
#note Or BASIONS, BONITAS, or BASTION. Of note: NIQABS for 51, keeping the blank.
>Chris_Guilbert: AEINRSU 8K .UNIA +18 144
>Chris_Guilbert: AEINRSU -- -18 126
#note Actual rack. He had put down SUN, pulled it up, then he tried this.
>Jim_Burlant: CEEEFOT 14C CEE +17 169
#note Given his last turn, I thought he might be sitting on a no-go. Since my first two options of COTE or FOE at 14A set up easy back hooks on row 15, I rejected them. I chose this because it blocked bingoes on row 15 while it simultaneously addressed my E overload. I realized CEE gave up 9 scoreboard points to FOE. But, with CEE played, he either has to have a K or S in his rack if he wants to score. And if he's only got an S, he'll have to burn it to score. Q thinks I should play FOE. Against more of a random rack, maybe. But in this situation, I'm fine with this.
>Chris_Guilbert: AEINRSU 15A URSA +28 154
>Jim_Burlant: DEEFORT L9 F.OE +22 191
#note Q's has another recommendation that, while counter-intuitive, looks solid: FLORET for 4 more instead of this. The sim eventually prefers this, but FLORET is a close second.
>Chris_Guilbert: DEIOV L1 VIDEO +29 183
>Jim_Burlant: AADEERT 2H ERAD.ATE +72 263
#note Only bingo.
>Chris_Guilbert: AEHMR 1D HAREM +54 237
>Jim_Burlant: ?GLNOOZ O1 L.Z +36 299
#note No bingoes in this rack but it might have been worth it to burn the blank to play bENZOL for 72. This or BENZOL are equally strong atop a sim.
>Chris_Guilbert: IIKLUUW -IIKLUUW +0 237
>Jim_Burlant: ?GILNOO 3B LOGIONs +70 369
#note Couldn't thik of SOLOING and wasn't paying a whole lot of attention at this point. SOLOING, SPOOLING, etc. score 72. Whatever- any of the row 3 plays wins at least 99.8%. Of note: HOOLIGAN D1.
>Chris_Guilbert: AAKP 2A KAPA +35 272
>Jim_Burlant: ABEINRT A8 TRAN. +42 411
#note Style preference - Everything wins 99.9% or more.
>Chris_Guilbert: PU H13 .UP +15 287
