#player2 Nyx Nyx
>Joshua_Sokol: COORSST H7 COS +10 10
#note too fishy, should go for COOTS for 10 more. ERST is 10 better than RS, not ORST
>Nyx: BDILNUU 9A UNBUILD. +66 66
#note this worked out better than COOTS would have
>Joshua_Sokol: GORSTVW A6 VRO.W +33 43
>Nyx: ACEEEPX 8C AX +38 104
>Joshua_Sokol: AGORSTW 10H TOW +20 63
#note 3 to 4-point preference given to (R)OW, which has a significantly better leave. This seemed better enough positionally to warrant giving up the T and two points. Nyx has a rack that is weaker than average after AX I would say, which improves my prospects significantly.
>Nyx: CEEEILP 11I PEE +19 123
>Joshua_Sokol: AEGNRRS L8 GARNERS +76 139
>Nyx: CEEEEIL 12H CEE +19 142
>Joshua_Sokol: EEINOOS 10A .OO +17 156
#note EINOS significantly better than EEINS here, as well as leaving the VROUW hook open, so it's close between E(C)O, M8 OE and this.
>Nyx: AEEILSY 8K A.LEY +27 169
>Joshua_Sokol: EEINNNS 6A .ENIN +10 166
>Nyx: ?EEFILS 5B FELInES +81 250
>Joshua_Sokol: DEINPST 4G DIPNETS +78 244
>Nyx: DGIILMT H1 MID.. +24 274
>Joshua_Sokol: AAHQRRU 14I QUA.AR +34 278
#note considered (C)HAR H12 also. It's nice to leave myself with Q options next turn, but with a game as close as this one, I need to consider going for the Z, J and blank to continue to score. I think this is a bit more balanced, but I would have gone with CHAR if I saw something really nice I could hit with my Q next turn with the right draw. The two options are flipflopping on a sim.
>Nyx: EGILTUV 15D GLUTEI +38 312
>Joshua_Sokol: AFHINOR 5K FOH +35 313
#note not sure why I didn't think to add the N. That might have been better. Would have worked out better for sure. FOH wins a short sim by 2 points because AINR is significantly more bingo-prone than AIR
>Nyx: GIORTVY 6K TROY +30 342
>Joshua_Sokol: AIIKMNR 9J AM.IN +24 337
#note really wanted to play those extra tiles to go for the blank. This is merited at this point, I don't have much of a chance otherwise. A(R)K 13K was my second option to score, but I'm not outscoring anywhere near enough to try and outdo Nyx in the pre-endgame, even if playing off 2 gives me tempo. I think I need to do this. Champ player would want me to keep AIRN again with 7F MI(C)K or MI(L)K or play F7 MA(L)KIN. I like MA(L)KIN best for sure. Did not see that. Does the same thing as AMAIN in terms of pure turnover, but also sheds the K, which is a great scoring tile, except in this case where it is just more clunk to stuff in the trunk given the remaining letters to draw.
>Nyx: ABGIOTV C2 GIV.. +18 360
>Joshua_Sokol: ?DHIKRT 3B K. +6 343
#note First off, I missed O1 DHIKRs for 61. That is a lot of points. I win most games here. But I have to be wary of Nyx's last play. It's some sort of setup, surely. JAB made the most sense as a leave, but maybe I'm looking too far into it and he just kept BATE or BOAT. In this case, that is the case. I should not have jumped to conclusions here, especially knowing that we tend to overvalue the probability that the opponent has a premium tile nearing the end of the game. In this case, a J or a Z is likely, but never both together. That means I should anticipate a likelier than average possibility that I will draw one of them. I really thought it was the Z. I did this to block JAB or any other setup I didn't see, set up another big spot for my case blank (S), and go for a possible bingo through the M or the I. Only thing I can hit is HIDROTIC/TRICHOID and DISHERIT though, and that's a 2/8. And I'm likely not winning in the endgame, as we will see.
>Nyx: AABEOTZ J1 AZA. +33 393
#note with a rack such as AABJOTZ, Nyx surely finds the 100% win, 2F BA(I)ZA. I didn't see that I was giving Nyx a spot for JOT D1 either. Just too much firepower. From the bot's perspective I can hit HADJIS at O1, which scores enough to outrun B(R)AE 13K+ZA N2 after HADJIs.

I would have lost to A(G)AZE if I had gone with by far the strongest play last turn, DHIKRs.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?DHIJRT E11 THIR. +16 359
#note better to play for points here, I'm not scoring enough even if I block Nyx's OB(L)ATE and go out next turn.
>Nyx: ABEOT 13K B.AE +22 415
>Joshua_Sokol: ?DJ 13C DJ.n +22 381
>Joshua_Sokol: (OT) +4 385
#note In theory, missing DHIKRs was really bad and game-losing, but I would have lost anyway with what the bot had. Don't make mistakes! Missing MA(L)KIN was probably my only real mistake here in hindsight, and I think it cost me the game! Or maybe I would have drawn into SWERV(I)NG if I had played COOTS instead of COS.
