>Marcela_Kadanka: DEIKP H4 PIKED +30 30
>Joshua_Sokol: CEFHNSU I7 FEH +29 29
#note This was the toughest game to win for me all around, and this turn it's obvious to me why. I missed 3 better words that I knew here. F(I)CHU, ECH(I)NUS 2x2 and FUCHS(I)NE.
>Marcela_Kadanka: ANOV J8 NOVA +24 54
>Joshua_Sokol: CGMNSTU 5E MUT.NGS +40 69
#note didn't think this was valid, figured I'd get away with it.
>Marcela_Kadanka: BC 11I C.B +14 68
>Joshua_Sokol: ACGOTTX 4D GOX +35 104
#note Next in line of mistakes, I overdraw and she turns over AOW, giving me back AO. Probably the tamest result I could have hoped for here, but it could have been much worse.
>Marcela_Kadanka: IQ K3 QI. +12 80
>Joshua_Sokol: AACNRTT 3K .AT +24 128
#note blocking TRAN(S)ACT unfortunately
>Marcela_Kadanka: ?AEEINS M3 .AENItES +59 139
#note a few 7s here that she missed on column L, luckily for me.
>Joshua_Sokol: AACNRTU L6 UTA +10 138
#note This was now a really tough spot. I am in bad shape here with no scoring options. I think 10J (V)AU(S) makes the most sense to keep the game close and bereft of big scoring opportunities. This still allows for example a big H play at N10. Otherwise I should probably play TUNA over this, to score a bit more and keep a similarly valued leave.
>Marcela_Kadanka: ARSTW H11 SWART +44 183
#note I actually didn't think this was a word, but it is! Luckily I had absolutely no good reason to challenge.
>Joshua_Sokol: ACENORW 14B CAREWO.N +92 230
>Marcela_Kadanka: MOY 13C YOM +32 215
>Joshua_Sokol: DDEILLR 12A DIRLED +37 267
>Marcela_Kadanka: EEEJP A7 JEEPE. +48 263
>Joshua_Sokol: AALNRTV 12K ARVAL +22 289
#note I was now in just about the same spot as I was with the UTA rack, with better winning prospects. I am not out of the woods at all, many ways I can still lose. The H threat, other easy ways for Marcela to score. I didn't like ALVAR 3A or any other play there because of the Z. The Z can score as much as a bingo for her, and I don't want to open myself up for that particular scenario. That's why I played for 2 less here. Quackle thinks this is a mistake but I think I stand by it.
>Marcela_Kadanka: ?EILRUZ O12 .URE +12 275
#note based on post-mortem this is the rack I determined she had. She said she should have played LaZU(L)I with the blank. An interesting idea, but I disagree. The blank is still valuable here, there is no need to block both 8 lanes as she did since she is behind (the L at O12 and the T at 15H). A play like I3 ZI(N) is fine here. Her likelihood of getting a bingo next turn is pretty high, and even then it's still a close game if she misses. This was a good idea, still going for the A for a big Z play, but it doesn't score or leave well enough to justify the immediate points sacrifice.
>Joshua_Sokol: EILNOOT N9 TOL.NE +28 317
#note this seemed automatic, but it shouldn't have been. I just wanted to keep scoring, but OI is a pretty awful leave for this pool and I'm creating two case hooks that I don't have, an A and an H for (ET)A. B7 ONTO is a conservative play that also scores, but the sim-winner is the weird-looking B3 LOTION. Keeps the E, which is good, digs into the bag, which is good, and actually doesn't give that much back at all considering the weird-looking pool of remaining tiles.
>Marcela_Kadanka: ?BILZ I3 LI. +8 283
#note I think this was just a continuation of Marcela's mistake last turn of sacrificing points now to go for points later. She liked creating the B-hook for herself but that's pretty useless. This threw her range of possible leaves all over the place for me, I no longer had a clue what she might have, besides the blank.
>Joshua_Sokol: EGIOOOR B5 GOO +15 332
#note really in a tight spot here. Once again I need to be going for turnover here, not necessarily to draw the blank or the S, but just to draw something I can score with. So many clunkers are so important here. This is another clear mistake. I'm not blocking anything, all I'm doing is scoring, and I'm just creating tons of opportunities for her to score and get tempo in the endgame. 10A (P)EROGI is the play for certain. I didn't consider it at all. But it might not have gone as planned!
>Marcela_Kadanka: AZ G13 Z.A +45 328
#note she amazingly hits the A she was going for after a two-tile play, and I'm back in the danger zone of being outscored.

If I had played PEROGI, I would be ahead 2 with one in the bag. That doesn't look that bad upon first thought, but if she has all of the flexibility in the pool (?S with some scoring tiles) I am thoroughly screwed.
>Joshua_Sokol: EHIIORY C7 YO +26 358
#note now at least I can give myself tempo and a good leave in the endgame. I played this over 11E HI or HO because that spot didn't seem to be going anywhere for next turn, keeping the H for column O and (ET)H at least seemed to have some value, and because I wanted to block her from accessing the C7 spot herself. Apparently this is a mistake of many magnitudes for the third turn in a row, and I don't get it. I thought I understood these past few positions well, but Quackle is telling me something completely different. What am I missing?
>Marcela_Kadanka: BFI D8 FIB +21 349
>Joshua_Sokol: EHIIIRU 11E HI +31 389
>Marcela_Kadanka: ?DNST 9C D.NTS +18 367
#note basically drew the worst two tiles imaginable and still won. I guess I'm really missing something here, like the possibility of her spending the blank with 11E Fe or something?
>Joshua_Sokol: EIIRU 13J IRE +10 399
>Marcela_Kadanka: ? 3K ...s +12 379
>Marcela_Kadanka: (IU) +4 383
#note ugly, ugly win here.
