#player1 Scott Scott
#player2 Will Will
>Scott: DEERRWW 8G REDREW +28 28
>Will: DEGLNUX J6 LU.EX +30 30
#note W: Didn't think of DELUXE...nice to open another E and keep just the GN combo. LUREX is okay.
>Scott: AACIRTW 7F CAW +17 45
#note S: My style is to play for the early bingo, and CAW provides best chance at drawing into one, while also giving me a place to play it. But the star play is WAUR at 7H, due to its defense. I also like WAITER at K4. W: I think WAUR gives up a bit too much on bingo%...dumping just the AW somewhere seems like it hits a ton.
>Will: AADGNTU K3 UNGAT.D +25 55
>Scott: AINRSTV L1 VINA +28 73
#note S: Best. About 5 points better than VITA, which is a bigger gap than I'd expected.
>Will: AADEMOS J2 OMA +15 70
#note W: OEDEMA is better, just whiffed on it. I still get whacked, though.
>Scott: BORSTTU 1D TURBOTS +86 159
>Will: AADENOS 1L .ANE +21 91
#note W: Not thrilled to part with my E, but there's plenty more to come and it's important not to let the score get too far out of reach.
>Scott: EGILOOP 2B GOOP +20 179
#note S: Ugh, missed a 40 pointer at M3.
>Will: ADDGIOS 9A GADOIDS +67 158
>Scott: EFIIJLT A7 JI. +33 212
>Will: BFHIKOY D8 H.OKY +38 196
#note W: Hated spending my H here, because it was so useful to open the board with L8 WH- plays hooking EDH. The other play I considered was 3A KIF. Quackle likes 10B HOY, presumably because I leave myself KIF as a baseline for next turn. It's true that I have enough scoring ammo here that I might be able to fight my way back into the game that way, so I see the logic of it.
>Scott: EFIILTY N1 .IFTILY +30 242
#note S: I like NIFTILY, taking six cracks at a blank, Quackle prefers LIFE at 3A.
>Will: ABEFIIT O5 FIAT +33 229
#note W: Hated not opening further down the board, but I'm not sure what else I can play. I thought hard about 11D KIBEI, but I'm really not down that much after FIAT.
>Scott: AAEELMR 11B MA.E +20 262
#note S: I played MAKE to make bingos nearly impossible for Will. Possibly better to go slightly longer, with MAKER or LEAKER, offering some limited bingo chances while grabbing a few more tickets into the blank lottery.
>Will: ?BCEEIZ C2 .BElIZE. +63 292
>Scott: AEILORT I8 .ROIT +21 283
#note S: This was a tough one. I'm only down 30, but I can't score well, and I don't have the blank or an S. Thought my best option might be to create another opening and hope to bingo either there or up top. DROIT simmed fine, just a tad behind OIL/OX.
>Will: ?CHNNOQ 4A Qu.NCH +58 350
#note W: I actually was deciding between QI and CINQ on Scott's clock before seeing this shortly after my turn started. Surprisingly, Quackle prefers QI - it might really be the case that Scott plays to the triple down column H about as often as Quackle expects, giving me the through tiles I need to bingo in response. Otherwise, I can't hit the T of DROIT or the E of OBELIZED, so if he plays inside somewhere I would have to draw the A or the U for CHANSON or NONSUCH. QUENCH is a solid runner-up, imo.
>Scott: AEELLNU B11 .ULE +12 295
#note S: Garbage rack. Had to take a chance, MULE does fine I guess. I don't like any other play Quackle suggested.
>Will: EENORSS 15B SENORES +81 431
#note W: Oh, come on.
>Scott: AEELNRV 12I .RAVEL +18 313
#note S: I actively decided just to end this one without looking for the best play, and it showed. Try to find the 29-pointer I missed.
>Will: IP N12 .IP +10 441
#note W: We slapped our endgame moves down instantly so we could get the last game underway.
>Will: (EN) +4 445
