>Chris_ten_Den: DENW H7 WEND +16 16
>Joshua_Sokol: ADGRSTT G5 GRAD +16 16
#note For some reason here I liked STT almost as much as DST, hence why I played GRAD over GRAT. I thought the two point difference more than made up for the difference in scoring between the two plays next turn. I figured bingo chancese were about equal. I was about right in terms of bingo chances, GRAT having a just slightly higher chance, but I seem to score around 3-4 more points aftere GRAT, so my usual choice would have been correct.
>Chris_ten_Den: ADNR 5G .RAND +14 30
>Joshua_Sokol: EGILSTT H1 TIGE. +21 37
#note this time I miss the I(DE)# andd G(AW)# hook. GILT plays there for 18 and is more my style. GIT is 3 fewer with a more powerful leave, which is good too. This is a bit worse.
>Chris_ten_Den: IIIII -IIIII +0 30
>Joshua_Sokol: ELOPSTT F6 OP +18 55
#note Could convince myself of POTTLES, missed POLITEST (sort of knew I missed something thru the I) and didn't know but could have guessed PISTOLET#. And why not POT/ODE. I don't know what happened here. I believe I got distracted by something.
>Chris_ten_Den: BY 6I BY +32 62
>Joshua_Sokol: ELOOSTT L1 TOOLSET +74 129
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EFIJLR (challenge) +5 134
#note felt safer than E3 cause not as many huge plays on the triple.
>Chris_ten_Den: CNRY 2J CR.NY +32 94
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EFIJLR 10A FRIJoLE. +72 206
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EFIJLR -- -72 134
#note wanted to try this in csae it was good. I didn't really care this tournament.
>Chris_ten_Den: EIOUX K7 EUOI +6 100
#note I believe Chris was setting up his X! Otherwise I8 is better
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EFIJLR 10F JE.I +28 162
>Chris_ten_Den: LOX 11E LOX +38 138
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EFILRV 12D FIR +24 186
#note nowhere for FLIVVER, but FAVIRLE# plays. Also missing F(LOX)#. This was a bad play, because I thought JOR# didn't take an S.
>Chris_ten_Den: ?AEOPST 1L .EAS +19 157
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AELTVW E2 VALET +19 205
#note FIR+VALET was definitely my worst strategic sequence during this tournament. I wanted to take out the only lanes that seemed likely for Chris to hit and in doing so I sacrificed a lot of equity. But not only is Chris more likely than I thought to have a bingo down column M, he can also do what he did next turn.
>Chris_ten_Den: ADEEHST 13B HEADSET +94 251
>Chris_ten_Den: IQ (challenge) +5 256
#note Would have been funny if I had challenged HEADSET after he challenged TOOLSET earlier, but no, I challenged JORS# quite confidently, to no avail. This won Chris high play, incredibly. 99 is not a lot in Collins, and I would have had him beat had I not doubted the validity of HOH# last game.
>Joshua_Sokol: ??AFIPW D3 PAW +29 234
#note and now I doubt FAW#; really should have taken a more thorough look at the threes prior to this tournament but we got sort of lost while I was trying to review them so I had to stop my studying to navigate. 14A WIFe is cute, FAE# doesn't take anything.
>Chris_ten_Den: IQ 14A QI +32 288
#note :O
>Joshua_Sokol: ??EFIUZ A14 .I +33 267
#note This was the most interesting position of the whole tournament for me. I actually managed to see and consider 3A ZUp(PA) (actually ZUPA# is much better but I didn't know it). My reasoning here was that instead of playing defensively I should be aggressive, and just playing off my I for 33 didn't cut it for me. If instead I played ZUp(PA), I could create another massive spot and be sure to hit one or the other. But ultimately I decided that this was not a surefire way to take control of the game, cause he might just play to the Z for 45, I might whiff on drawing a playable bingo or play under the Q and be stuck in worse position than I was here because I got rid of my blank. So seeing that I might draw into UNFAZED at L9 next turn and perhaps some other stuff I just went with the boring play.
>Chris_ten_Den: AU H13 .AU +9 297
>Joshua_Sokol: ??EFOUZ L10 FUZE +37 304
#note should be in relatively good shape after this. But I missed UNFROZE... lol and C1 UFO might be better than even the bingo. EZ?? is an absolutely killer leave and I could easily hit something like UNFROZE or (U)NFROZEN next turn. Oh wait... :)
>Chris_ten_Den: ABGINOS C4 BAGNIOS +73 370
#note well that came out of nowhere. Jeez
>Joshua_Sokol: ??KMOTU M11 TOM +31 335
#note Was gonna be more difficult than I thought to win this game! MOTU# is a better version of this play.
>Chris_ten_Den: CEOV N8 COVE +20 390
#note When I saw this play I thought for sure he had the H, otherwise A8 VO(I)CE outruns me pretty easily it would seem. But no! Chris just wanted to block the spot! The H came after...
>Joshua_Sokol: ??EKRRU 8B K. +6 341
#note I can't outrun the (C)H bomb now, so I have to play this. Calculated that if HM came down this would win, but just barely. And didn't really see any simple blocks for Chris. I also hoped to draw something through the U on row 15, but that seemed a tad difficult give my own U.
>Chris_ten_Den: AHIIMNN O8 HM +46 436
#note But MIHI# s a word! And it wins! Chris played HM confidently and overscored it by 6 points! That became a loss by 1 instead of a win by 5 in seconds...
>Joshua_Sokol: ??ELRRU A2 cURLERs +86 427
#note If he blocked KI with LI(O)N or something I would still win with (U)NRULIER. THE POWER OF DOUBLE BLANKS.
>Joshua_Sokol: (NIINA) +10 437
