#player2 Michael_Fagen Michael Fagen
>Joshua_Sokol: AIINNUX H8 AUXIN +26 26
#note This seemed to give slightly less back than the placement with the N on the star. I also considered playing this for 24 with the I on the star, but thought it wasn't quite worth it, since the A on the double-double line was sort of problematic, and easy plays like ZAS and QIS with AUXINS are also an issue, as well as __S__ words. This barely wins the sim over the placement with the I on the star.
>Michael_Fagen: ADHORVW 10F VO. +21 21
#note He first laid down 9E VRO(U)W, then switched to this, which put me slightly on tilt, because it blocked the bingo I saw. Also couldn't imagine a scenario where he should keep RW on his rack for no reason. This is definitely a scenario where keeping that leave is OK, and even optimal. I told Michael that I don't know if I would have played this, but looking back this was a smart play on his part.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AILNTW I7 WIN +16 42
#note It's really bad for me to be affected by Michael's last play in such a way that I lose focus. I saw TAILWIND and didn't originally see a 7, but if I had kept looking then I surely would have seen TAWNILY. This was an awful miss.
>Michael_Fagen: ADHRW G8 RH. +23 44
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AFLLTT 6F FLAT +22 64
#note After his last two plays I can only assume he has an S (I was completely wrong about that inference). I saw FLATLET but was unsure of its validity. It's good, and I should have played it anyway. I was going to play FLATT(AI)LS* if Michael hadn't blocked that. 0/2 on bingos so far!
>Michael_Fagen: ADOW 5E WOAD +26 70
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AAELRT 12B ALtERA.T +64 128
#note Needed to take the time to see 12C pARLA(N)TE. Saw PARENTAL and PATERNAL but didn't want to iterate through all the anagrams. This is 4.5 points back, and I can trust the sim here.
>Michael_Fagen: EEIPRU C7 PUERI.E +26 96
#note Not sure what his rack was here, but if he did have an S he missed a bingo. Doubt he had one though.
>Joshua_Sokol: DEGLMRS 8A GL.M +30 158
>Michael_Fagen: AH 11E HA +26 122
>Joshua_Sokol: DEEOQRS -EQ +0 158
#note Knew it was close between playing through with J4 ROSED or RESOD and the exchange. Also was debating keeping DEERS or DORES. I missed B7 O(L)DE at B7, which I might have played. GLUM was the right play last turn but I'm unhappy with that G being left open, as Michael will probably go for an IN(G) bingo there at his first opportunity. I decided not to play at J4 here, because if I had, drawing another S would have been paramount to retain control of the game. ROSED therefore looks better than RESOD as it leaves me P(ROSED), which Michael might not know. Of course the right side can be opened fairly easily after both ROSED and RESOD, so P(ROSED) will probably not be necessary. Anyways, I'm happy with my choice.
>Michael_Fagen: AIRS 13E RAIS +34 156
#note Michael said he regretted making this play. But if I don't hit my bingo, the game is basically even now. Although IN is definitely in my range after an exchange 2, so it's probably better for Michael to retain a bingo leave here.
>Joshua_Sokol: CDEORSU J2 COURSED +88 246
>Michael_Fagen: AEINNST 2G NAN.IEST +70 226
#note But this was Michael's fatal mistake. This is far too volatile, and doesn't really leave much open for Michael in the next few turns once the hotspots are taken out. He definitely needs another bingo here unless I just drew the worst stuff in the world. So K8 STANINE would need to be the play.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEIOQTZ 1G AZO +73 319
#note As it stood this was a fantastic draw no matter which bingo he chose, but at least he has much more of a fighting chance after STANINE + ZA.
>Michael_Fagen: EIJV 4I J.VIE +30 256
>Joshua_Sokol: CEEEIQT 3F QI +16 335
#note it seemed close between B11 Q(A)T and this, so I chose this since it blocked the most accessible lane.
>Michael_Fagen: BGGN B11 B.NG +20 276
>Joshua_Sokol: CEEEFKT 1L FEET +46 381
#note huge break for me.
>Michael_Fagen: GOO 4C GOO +13 289
>Joshua_Sokol: ?BCEEKP C2 BE. +12 393
#note this was greedy.
>Michael_Fagen: ILM D1 LIM. +15 304
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CEKPRS M1 ..K.R +18 411
#note L4 (I)CK is better. Obviously... Must have missed it.
>Michael_Fagen: DINOOTU A1 OUTDOIN. +86 390
#note oh alright then! Should have played BE(G). I'm drawing the bag on him and he still hits this! That's what I deserve for missing two bingos
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CDEPSY 15A PSYChED +109 520
#note I'm glad I continued looking after initially finding nothing. Missing this would have been the icing on the cake.
>Joshua_Sokol: (EETY) +14 534
