>Joshua_Sokol: AACEFIN H4 FACIA +28 28
>Winter: LPY 9G PLY +26 26
>Joshua_Sokol: ELNSTUU 10I ULU +10 38
#note Fishing off the U with (Y)U# is really strong here too. Problem: I don't know if YU takes an S, but can only assume it does. I should play 4D TUNE(F)UL in that case, but I don't even know that word!
>Winter: ?ADENRW L4 WANDERs +75 101
#note second only to WArR(A)NED#. Winter had not gone that deep in his studying yet. Unfortunately he didn't play this for the same amount of points pluralizing YU# so I was still in the dark about its validity.
>Joshua_Sokol: ENNSTTX 5E EXT.NT +26 64
#note 8K N(E)XTS is really strong here. I should have considered it.
>Winter: BFORS D1 FORBS +42 143
#note yup :(
>Joshua_Sokol: IINOSST 1D .INITO +27 91
#note I assumed (F)INOS was best here, but INS>IST, so FOIST wins the sim. I played this to draw the challenge, as we were playing 10-points. Winter was familiar with the word and took offense to the idea that he might challenge this :)
>Winter: EE 4D .EE +16 159
>Joshua_Sokol: GINNOSS 2I NOSINGS +72 163
#note play this with YUS#, but I was unsure of NOSINGS and of YUS#! When this came back valid I sort of remembered it being possibly TWL. But I actually should have gone with my instinct of playing it two spots back for less given Winter's fish.
>Winter: ?EIORRT O2 .TORmIER +74 233
#note scored as 77
>Joshua_Sokol: ADEGHIO N4 DOH +32 195
#note HOAED#! I also missed 3C A(R)GH. Wanted to leave that lane alone though. But HOAED# is definitely correct despite the downside of blocking a lane
>Winter: LTYZ 2B ZL.TY +65 298
#note At some point I cursed under my breath because I forgot that FINITO allowed for big scores underneath with a Y. Not this big! Well, I guess this is about the worst he could have hit me there.
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEGIRT B2 .A +11 206
#note If I had known GAI(R)#, not only would I have played it in this position, but I also would have played AI(R) to set G(AIR)# up. Sort of a Schrodinger's "what if" scenario. This is a poor fish. Really, way under the poverty line of sea animals.
>Winter: AKM 11I KAM +38 336
#note well, that deals with YUS#. Reason one for fishing last turn was still not being able to pull the trigger on that hook if I had it, therefore thinking the board is far more closed than it actually was.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEGIPRT A3 PARGET +34 240
#note now I have to follow my fish up with (ZA)G. I just lost a turn, basically, due to my poor playing.
>Winter: NO 6E NO +19 355
>Joshua_Sokol: EHILMUW 12K MEWL +25 265
#note !!!!!!!!!!!!! Collins !!!!!!!!!!! I missed so much this turn but actually seems like B6 ILEUM may be my best play that doesn't involve a word I don't know. This was terrible :D
>Winter: CDEEI 10C DEICE +18 373
#note nice defense bro
>Joshua_Sokol: AHIQSUV O12 SHIV +44 309
#note ooh maybe N10 VA(L)IS# would have worked to set up VALISE. Nah, he probably sees thru that. Apparently I should play QUA first, and SHIV later? Doesn't really make sense, since I'm sort of going for a humongous Q play at I13 forming UMMA!
>Winter: IO 1L OI +8 381
#note using the tile pool to his advantage and blocking me
>Joshua_Sokol: AAABGQU 11A ABA +8 317
#note cute, but not gonna work. Going for RE to threaten two huge Q plays.
>Winter: EEIJORV B11 .EVOR +20 401
#note At least I forced Winter to think a bunch. He missed some cool, superior plays in the endgame, two of which I saw during postmortem. But his best play is either 12A ROE setting up J(AR)VIE# or the other way around. I saw the cute 12B OE, which is only better than (A)IVER because it also sets up JARVIE#. I saw it since it sets up J(I)VIER which I will block, but R(A)J/J(OE) is 36. AIVER was a five Winter has trouble seeing.
>Joshua_Sokol: ADEGQUU 7J GU.E +7 324
#note or (T)EGU, both to block JE(D)I and go out next turn
>Winter: EIJ D8 JE. +18 419
>Joshua_Sokol: ADQU 13I QUAD +35 359
>Joshua_Sokol: (I) +2 361
