#player1 GH GH
#player2 Charles Charles
>GH: CJPQRUV -CJPQUV +0 0
#note Obviously exchange. But what though? I did consider being greedy and keep the QU combi, but settled for keeping the R. Quackle prefers keeping CR though, as the C is generally a good bingo tile and has synergy with the R.
>Charles: CEEGINT 8F GENETIC +76 76
>GH: EHKRTUY 7I YUK +31 31
#note Chose YUK, which balanced score and leave. It does make Row 6 pretty volatile though. Imagine something like RAJ.
>Charles: OX 9H OX +40 116
>GH: EEHILRT L4 TELE.HIR +87 118
>GH: ADIOOOU (challenge) +5 123
#note Pretty much the only thing to play. Fortunate to get the +5 too.
>Charles: COSY 12J COSY +46 162
#note Charles said he had challenged to make sure of the word so that he could hook his S on it.
>GH: ADIOOOU E8 AUDIO +23 146
#note Chose the highest scoring spot instead of the 10D option which scores 10 less. My only gripe was that it would make the top left quadrant less accessible.
>Charles: DDEEPRS 11A PRES.DED +62 224
#note Only playable bingo there.
>GH: ?ABENOO 11K B.OO +25 171
#note Besides whining that I was one tile off from NEO(P)hOBE, I wanted to create another opening on another part of the board. Pretty daring considering that the J and Z were not out yet at this point. Championship player favors 13M ABO or OBA marginally, which will open another triple triple lane. Didn't really like that though because it gives away too much.
>Charles: ANOW H11 .OWNA +30 254
#note POWAN would be better here. Not sure what his other tiles were. With an E I might consider WEAPON, though the 3 extra points will probably not be worth the added volatility.
>GH: ?AELNOR A8 fLA.ERON +140 311
#note pRO(P)ENAL is the other nine-timer available here. I must admit I didn't see them immediately. Almost settled for 5E ALEuRON(E), argh.
>Charles: AGMU O8 GAUM +30 284
#note That took care of the JA / ZA stinker I was worried about earlier.
>GH: BILORSV 15C BOLIV.RS +64 375
#note Was lucky that the floater was not blocked.
>Charles: EHP 14D PEH +35 319
>GH: DEISUWZ F6 ZI. +33 408
#note Didn't see 6L (L)UZ which would be better. Didn't mind the W because it can score in many spots (e.g. 9G, 10B, 5K etc). I considered 5H WEIZ(E) for 34 to block the 4x lane but in the end decided on 6F ZI(G) because I didn't want to open another lane. I ended up overscoring ZIG by 1 too -.-
>Charles: AEGIIMN B2 IMAGINE +75 394
#note Anddd.... after this he was back in the game.
>GH: DENSTUW G7 D.W +35 443
#note Toyed with the idea of UNST(E)WED*, saw that UNWASTED didn't play. Well but at least I could cash in my W and keep a decent leave. At this point I actually wanted to hold on to my U because the Q was unseen and that was the last U. To lose momentum and play something like QI for 11 or QAT for 12 would be disastrous now.
>Charles: AJ A4 JA +37 431
#note Probably best. Maximising score with minimum tiles.
>GH: AEFNSTU K5 FA..E +41 484
>GH: LNQRSTU (challenge) +5 489
#note Charles said this was probably the deciding move of the game. He said he wasn't sure of the word so he had to challenge.
>Charles: ?EINTTV M3 VENT +25 456
#note Clever move by him here as I had just expended my E while he has a blank so that is virtually an unblockable bingo spot for him.
>GH: LNQRSTU 4A ..RL +22 511
#note Lo and behold, I drew the Q. Good thing I kept the U or else I could be forced to play something like QI for 11. But even now I could still lose if I had played something like C9 QU(E)RN for 48 as Charles could outrun me with an out-bingo like FATTIER in row 2. I concluded that I was likely to draw a vowel after this, and even if I don't, QU(E)ST or OYS/SUQ should score enough. Didn't do the math but was pretty sure that as long as I didn't empty the bag, I had a good chance of winning.
>Charles: ?AAIRTT 3D ARIeTTA +59 515
#note As it turned out, Charles didn't have an E with him when he played VENT. It's interesting that Quackle recommends D11 (S)T here to block the big Q play, so that in the event the E was in the bag, I would be forced to play OYS/SUQ, which won't be enough to counter his out-bingo (5 point loss). So his chances of winning at this point is exactly 1/8.

ARIeTTA loses the game, but it was a good spot anyway.
>GH: EINQSTU C9 QU.EN +48 559
#note Turns out I actually didn't see that INQUEST still fit!!! :@ Played the wayyy suboptimal QU(E)EN, otherwise would have been a 1100+ game. Totally missed out SUQ/QI above ARIETTA too -.- Sigh.
>Charles: F J2 F. +13 528
#note 1 point more for IF/FOY, but he was low on time. Final scores were 560-534 (I overscored ZIG by 1).
>Charles: (IST) +6 534
