#note Tuna likes to open the board on Sokol
>Joshua_Sokol: ?ADGORT 15L G.AD +24 43
#note talked myself out of finding a bingo here. Missed DOGCARTS, GAROTTED (ugh) and TAGbO(A)RD (didn't know that one). I just turned all my senses off when I realized none of the 7s played.
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: ABJ 10H JAB +30 96

#note but it's OK
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: III -III +0 96
>Joshua_Sokol: AEQRSSW H10 ..WARS +60 207
#note SQARES were the first 6 tiles I drew. Waited until he made a move before I turned over the 7th. 1/3 of the pool gave me a decent play. This is the second best one-tile draw only to U or blank
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: EMOOPRS 15A OOSPERM. +95 191
>Joshua_Sokol: EELQRSZ 14H .EZ +32 239
#note With a normal opponent, I would have given more thought to N6 ZEES. It's aggressive, but with the score as is it's usually good for me. On the other hand Matthew is more likely to hit the spot than I am, and if he doesn't, he's definitely not going to attempt to block with a play through the Z or a one-tile drop. He'll be more than happy to leave it open. So I chose the more conservative approach.
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: ENOP 14B PEON +28 219
>Joshua_Sokol: EILNQRS 12D QI +24 263
#note lucky to draw an I here.
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: GLM 13F GL.M +18 237
>Joshua_Sokol: ELNORSU 13L U.N +3 266
#note This was really odd. I don't make plays like this often. I wanted to ensure that if Matthew had an S bingo, it would usually open something back up for me. If he has an S bingo, he is in good shape anyway, I just wanted to leave my options open in that case. And if he didn't have the S, I was in business. I also wanted to block the D, and hope that he didn't have an S. 13A OUR was my top consideration, but I felt better doing this for some reason. I could also just opt to outrun most things with 12J SEN(H)OR, which I missed. But OUR probably outruns better anyway. I am 26 points ahead, I should have just played OUR.
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: II -II +0 237
>Joshua_Sokol: EHLLORS O7 HOLLERS +87 353
#note Again, an extremely lucky outcome for me. Matthew had the S, but could not do anything with it.
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: DEEIIST N2 DEITIES +77 314
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEIINO M2 ANOA +19 372
#note Uh oh. I'm now in worse shape than I was when I played URN. Should I do this, and hope Matthew doesn't have stuff to score with? Or should I play H3 AEONI(C) and hope to draw some stuff myself?
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: ADK L2 DAK +38 352
#note The E is actually completely useless here unless I keep the B with it. This isn't the correct exchange it would seem.
>Joshua_Sokol: BEEEFII -BEEFII +0 372
#note Keeping a vowel is actually pretty useless here, since I can't score with an E or and I anyway. All keeping an E does is slightly increase my chances of a bingo next turn. Not happening. It's best to keep a B here, or nothing at all, it would seem, as the former allows me to score most on average, and the latter allows for me to fish a bit more for the extremely important blank tile. I should have put more thought into this position.
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: CRU 13A CUR +21 373
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AEGITV K11 .ET +11 383
#note I ultimately decided to slowplay here, and force Matthew to make a move. I didn't see any way that he could score without opening the board. I had the case A for the O2 spot. It goes without saying here that this was not a good play. It was meant to trick Matthew into believing I might not have the blank.
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: AIIIIU -AIIIIU +0 373
#note pretty sure he exchanged 6.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AEGIIV 10M .I. +5 388
#note Great, now I was in the driver's seat. He just dumped stuff into the unforgiving pool of junk, not knowing I already had the trump card. Now, between playing A8 VIAtI(C), playing 10M (N)I(L) and fishing off my V with 3K V(ANE) to try and draw into REAGINI(C) in two spots, I decided to play NIL, since I had assumed he had thrown all of his I's into the pool, and I didn't want to draw one. I also was still blind to the looming threat that I must have convinced myself not to look for, in my notorious chokey fashion. I think I must play 3K V(ANE) here. VIATIC is nice, but I saw that with a bad draw, I could lose after a play like WE or WO at B10, and this looked like a sure win. But I'm also giving away my ability to form a 6 at A8, which I didn't realize at the time.
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: F 7M F.. +13 386
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AEGINV A8 VAlGI. +36 424
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AEGINV -- -36 388
#note I drew my N, which was great, but also sucked because I might have hit my fish if I had played off the V. Now I felt locked in. Any way Matthew could score didn't matter to me, since I could just fish in a worst case scenario, but really I can just outscore him with V(ANE) followed by GAd O1, which he could do nothing about.

Now I must admit that I completely... COMPLETELY... missed (DAD)O. My quickest way to defeat was so simple that I'm stunned about how blind I was to DAD's other hook. And (ANE)W! How did I miss both of those 4s? This play is therefore horrible, because it was probably phony (I didn't mind, once again I felt comfortable with my chances regardless, since Matthew would really not know what to do after this came off). But I'm just so lucky he had exchanged his O off earlier and never drew it back. VALGIC*, pertaining to a VALGUS in a way that VALGOID does not cover.(??)
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: FIN I5 INF. +11 397
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AEGINV 6C AVENgI.G +67 455
#note Matthew had hoped I had 4 vowels and 2 consonants, and that I would be unable to hit anything here. He was desperate.

DAVENING was on the board next to ours, but this game was stimulating enough that I had not realized. If I had I would have played it. I imploded here and doubted HAVENING, RAVENING, everything except this perfectly normal word. My weakest win.
>Matthew_Tunnicliffe: BEEIUVW D4 VI.E +20 417
#note And yet I manage to draw two outs. He could have blocked with 5E WE.
